Full census return for Hurlford and the surrounding area for 1841. It covers ED 7 in Riccarton completely for 1841. Part of Hurlford for 1851, 1861 and 1871 - it was too large by then to do them all - so 1851 is about 25% (from EDs 4 and 5), 1861 is about 15% (from EDs 4, 5 and 6) and 1871 is about 10% (EDs 4, 5 and 6 again). I took the sample as every nth page (eg every 10th page for 1871), but ensured I had complete families.

This database contains the REID population in the Three Towns between 1700 and 1850 as possible. It contains Reid entries from the Ardrossan and Stevenston OPR's, the 1819 and 1835 Landsboroughs, the 1841, 1851 &1861 censuses, some poor relief entries, some MI's, and the continuing lines of descent provided by myself and several other Reid researchers. It contains well over 1000 named individuals although a significant number are multiple entries of the same individual where no proof of connection could be found.
Many of the estimated dates of birth are based on the assumption of an early 20's age at time of marriage. If I can find a volunteer to transcribe the Reid MI's which pertain to those living in the 3Towns during the 1700 to 1850 time frame, I will gladly update the GEDCOM with the family connections thus established. This is a task which must be done entry by entry from the MI volumes in the Ardrossan local history library.
I would appreciate from anyone if they are able to add to the body of knowledge contained in this database or correct any errors. I hope you and others find it helpful.
