I am looking for a link to Follick/Vollicks living in Nelson, Wentworth County. Submitted by : Elizabeth Dubec Foltz -- My grandfather was born April 15 1900 in Bufflo NY, his birth record indicates that his Mother was a Ida Mvkelvey born in St. Catharines, Lincoln County. She was 27 when he was born. His father is listed as a James Warner born in New York but living in Washington. I am trying to obtain any information on either parents. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I believe David is part of the Isiah Millard family that lived in Stamford between 1784 and the 1790's and am hoping to locate Mary's family in the same place and time. I know he lived in the Sherkston area and married Anne Ecker (who was born in 1869 and died on August 31, 1893). He died on December 17, 1922 in Welland. He was related in some way to Clancy Hiles who owned a tourist camp outside Dunnville. Joel HISCOTT married Eliza DRUCE, who was born in Wiltshire & lived in Niagara. They moved to Lambton County, Ont. Their son George HISCOTT, married Eliza Ann SILVER from Lennox-Addington County near Napanee & moved to Smithville, Ont. I am trying to find the town or area where the family lived in England & any other information about the family. History Society (England) is conducting a One Name Study of the Holdich/Holditch
name. A James Holditch born Devon England 1776 was attacked and robbed
on board the "Sir Robert Peel" in 1838, which was burned at
Wells Is. on a voyage from Prescott to Niagara. James died 28 April 1841
at Port Robinson. I would like to know whether his is the OCFA burial
at a cemetery called Beaverdams & Smith at Thorold. He and his wife
Mary nee Elliott had several chn. A son William of Sydenham married 5
Sep 1846 at Barriefield to Mary Ann Johnston dau of the late John Johnston,
Fort Adjutant of Garrison at Isle au Noix. The youngest dau Elizabeth
married 6 Sep 1848 to A. Bronson of Thorold. There are refs to Holditch
at Stamford, Thorold & Bertie. The name also appears in the Diaries
