CAMP -- Looking for any information on Margaret CAMP who m. James HURST in Niagara on 3 Nov 1794. I think she was b. in 1774 in Oxford, Sussex Co., NJ and was one of 12 children of David CAMP, originally from Aberdeen, Scotland, and was a UEL. Margaret Hurst, widow d. in Niagara 1848 and left property to her daughter Agnes MCEUEN Watts, wife of Jonathan. I think Agnes may have been Rev John MCEUEN's sister from wills and land records. Caprick -- Looking for g grandmother, Augusta Louise C(K)aprick, m. Daniel Wesley McCain 2-4-1863 at age 18. Her parents were Charles and Joanna Caprick. Lived in Humberstone. Was married for 69 years! Children: Hugh Lentz McCain (my grandfather), Addie McCain, Charles Wesley McCain.

Carnes -- I have been researching my family in Haldimand Co and I seem to have hit a wall. I can find them in the 1871 census living in South Cayuga. I think I know where to look next for my gggrand mother (Mary Ann Barry), but not for my gggrandfather (Walter Mathew Carnes). I have come across some information that his parents were Mathew Carnes and Hannah Fathers. I have been able to find information on a Fathers family that leads back into Niagara Co but I don't know if this is the right line. I have also found information of a Fathers' marriage in Niagara Co abt 1796. During your research in the Niagara area have you ever run across the family name of Carnes or Fatahers.

CLARK -- Daniel CLARK, b. 17 Mar 1775, Londonderry, Rockingham Co. NH, and his wife Betsey PATTERSON, brought their 8 children to Fort Erie, possibly about 1816. He is listed in New Boston Town Records as being a Lt. in 1810, and Capt., 1811-1815. Daniel died 29 Dec 1847, and is buried in St. Paul's Anglican Church cemetery.

At least 3 of these children married in Niagara: Sarah m. Tyler BEACH, 6 Feb 1833, Bertie
William m. Susan WOOLEVER, 20 Nov 1834, Fort Erie
Nancy m. Hugh WATT, 3 Apr 1829, Queenston

William (d. 22 Mar 1870) and Susan (d. 3 Apr 1883)are also buried in St. Paul's Anglican Church cemetery.

Betsy married Timothy HOYT, and they lived in Waterloo; Bradford married Isobel, and they lived in Buffalo and Black Rock; Jane married Israel BROWN, and they lived in Black Rock before migrating to IL; David married Rebecca, and they eventually lived in IN; Robert married Violett CLARK in MI.

Questions:
What might have prompted the move from NH to Welland Co.?
Is there any significance to Daniel's being listed as Lt. and Capt. in NH? War of 1812?
What happened to Daniel's wife Betsey? She was alive as late as 1849, and then disappears.

Any information or suggestions will be very much appreciated.

CLENCH --  I am looking for information on Ralph CLENCH, Joseph B. CLENCH and Serena CLENCH. A Joseph CLENCH, Abraham SECORD and Serena CLENCH were sponsors at the baptism of William SECORD. Rev. John Strachan of St. James Anglican Church, Toronto (later St. James Church)journeyed to Port Talbot,in Dunwich Twp., Elgin County... where in Ancaster he baptized William SECORD on 5 June 1816, son of John and Janet SECORD. Who were the CLENCH's? A Ralph CLENCH is mentioned in regards to John and Henry NEAR. Ralph CLENCH is said to have signed a document verifying that John NEAR (of Humberstone)came to the area in August 1798. Believe Ralph CLENCH signed this document abt. July 1816. It was also signed by a Isaac SWAYZE. Can anyone tell me anything about the family of CLENCH, and what was their connection to the DARBY family? [re: Ralph CLENCH DARBY b. abt. 1801 to George and Margaret (BOWMAN) DARBY]

Cline -- Searching for any information on the parents and birthplaces of a group of CLINE siblings. John (m. Catherine Browse), Adam, Henry and Mary (m. Herman Fisher) Cline came to Upper Canada circa 1799 and settled near Vineland. They came with a group of other families including Inglehart, Bowslaugh and Fisher. John and Catherine later settled in Halton Co. I'm particularly interested in knowing where in the U.S. they came from and the children of Mary Cline and Herman Fisher. Any hints appreciated.

Connolly -- I only want to find some clue about Cendorf Connolly born in province of Quebec, Danville area. He is the son
of Edward Connoly and Elisa Gagniere. He died in Ontario(St. Catharines) but received the last services from Rvd Thomas J.
Redmond, priest from Merritton. Grantham Twp., Lincoln Co.. Ontario. He was 42 yeras old and 3 months. He died Dec. 14

Coleman -- I understand that Robert Lawrence Patterson came with his mother Catherine Coleman to join his father in Niagara-On-The-Lake -- but, that his father died of 'fever'  before they got there.  I would love to find his father's grave, what he did for a living and how Catherine supported her family. Robert Lawrence Patterson is my kids ggggrandfather. I would like to know who Robert's siblings were & who they married. I am also looking for the LEGGE family -- that is who Robert Lawrence married. All sorts of things -- so any help to get me going in the right direction would be very, very much appreciated.

Cooper -- I am searching for information on Freedom P. Cooper and his father--also Freedom Cooper. The son was born in "Niagara, Upper Canada" June 14, 1847. Freedon, the dad, was from NY, but his mom, Margaret Paige Cooper was from Canada. They left for Missouri, USA in 1853 so may show up on the 1851/2 census in this county. COPELAND - David and his wife Ann Blashill came to Gainsborough Twp.
in the mid 1830s along with his nephew John, married to Elizabeth, parents of Hannah Copeland McCollom. Later another nephew George Copeland arrived, married Amanda Forshee in 1852 and had five children, Isaac, Frona, Nettie, Joanna and Mary, all born in the Smithville area. Corbit -- I am looking for information of the CORBIT family. They lived in Welland in the early 1800's a bit before and after.   Their daughter, my GGGGGrandmother was named Julianna(Julia Ann) Corbit and was born in Welland, Lundy's Lane, Ontario March 22, 1804.  This information from her Death Certificate in Michigan.  She married in the Buffalo area in 1824 to a US 1812 veteran - DeGrummond.  I would like to know the origin of her parents and their names.

Cormier -- Cooke)Mable Kathaleen daughter of William Albert and Kathaline Page born in 1912 on April 17. Married to Clarence Porter Cooke Sept.25,1930 at the Anglican Church in Niagara Falls . COVERT -- Looking for info on William R. COVERT b. 1802-05 either NY or CAN. Was living in Townsend at the time of his marriage to Mariah A. Desbro on 13 Aug 1837. marriage performed by Rev. willaim smith, regular Baptist Church. Also found record that shows him as a bondsman and it states that in 1834 he was from Grantham, and a joiner. Any help in finding out more about him would be most  appreciated. Looking primarily for parents or siblings.

Earl Lewis Criece -- Born circa 1903 likely in the Lincoln County area (ie: Fenwick, Welland, etc.); deceased circa 1984. Rosie Pearl Criece, nee Deforest (my grandmother) - Birthdate unknown; birthplace is reputed to be the Six Nations Reserve in Brantford; deceased circa 1982.
Floyd Edward Criece (uncle) (or Edward Floyd?) -Born in 1935 in Lincoln County; last known to be living in Manitouwadge (spelling?), ON.
Merle Lewis Criece (my father) -Born on Aug. 23, 1938 reportedly in my grandparents house (Lincoln County); living in Belleville, ON. Carl (uncle) -Born circa 1946 in Lincoln County; deceased circa 1980. Carol (aunt) -Birthdate unknown; whereabouts unknown.
Donna (aunt) -Birthdate unknown; whereabouts unknown.
Ronald -Half-brother to Floyd, Merle, Carl, Carol, and Donna; birthdate unknown; whereabouts unknown. -I'm not sure if he was an illegitimate child of my grandmother or if he adopted my surname. I have checked the Ontario census for 1871 and no record of anyone with my last name exists. This may be due to one or more of three possibilities: 1.) My great-grandparents didn't live in Ontario at the time - they may have emigrated from the U.S. or Europe. 2.) My surname may have been changed between 1871 and 1903. 3.) Rumour has it that my grandfather was an illegitimate child and was raised by his aunts. This may be the reason behind a change in name.
My surname is very rare and very unusual in Ontario; to the best of my knowledge, anyone with the surname "Criece" is a direct relative (ie: cousin, aunt, uncle, etc.).

Craig --Looking for information on Isabel CRAIG, married Renatus R. DANARD in 1889, settled in Carberry, Manitoba. Isabel CRAIG was born in Thorold, ONT, Nov 28, 1865. She had a twin sister Mary. Craine -- I have been doing research on the Craine family. My Gr-Gr-Grandfather, Thomas Craine came from the Isle of Man (1825-1845). I am trying to find links. I found that William Muir of Pt. Dalhousie (b.1821?) married Ester Ann Craine from the Isle of Man. Hoping she may be a link. Can anyone supply information?

Cullen

CULP -- CULP -- Am seeking information pertaining to any and all descendants of the two brothers Jacob CULP, born 1729 and Dielman CULP, born 1744, both of whom were born at Bedminster Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and who later migrated northward from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to resettle on lands located in Clinton Township, Lincoln County, early Upper Canada. Jacob and Dielman were primary figures in the historic 1786 migration and settlement of the “VERY FIRST MENNONITES" to settle in Canada.”

Dalrymple -- Greetings from Australia. I am trying to trace the family of Alexander Dalrymple and Martha Cottinghame married in Toronto in July 1891. Alexander was born in Scotland in 1863. I don't know when he left Scotland or when, where he arrived in Canada. I have no knowledge of his wife Martha. I found some entries in the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid for Wainfleet, Welland which could be them. Anyone out there know what I do next?

DARBY --  Searching for information on "any" DARBY in the Niagara District area.... Who was John DARBY? He was on the 1786 Victualing List of Loyalists at Niagara "in Mr. Tenbroeck's district" and the 1787 "of those who settled west of the 4 mile creek". [I am told, have not seen this myself] Also listed is a George DARBY - is this his son? John DARBY petitioned for land in 1796, "he had been a soldier in and during the whole length of the French-Indian war ending in 1764"... and had been a resident of the Niagara District "upwards of ten years." A John DARBIE is said to have held land under a Land Board Certificate, 18 Jan 1791, for Lot 14 in the Broken Front Concession 1, "124 acres in Grantham." We believe John DARBY's son was George DARBY, born ? 1764/66, married Margaret BOWMAN bef. 1790, possibly as early as 1785. Margaret BOWMAN was born abt. 1770 in NY or PA to George Adam BOWMAN and Ann Mary CONRAD. George and Margaret (BOWMAN) DARBY had ten children; Jacob 1792 - Mary 27 Nov 1793 -  Henry 1795 - William 1797 - Priscilla 1799 - George Adam 1800 Ralfe Clench 1801 - Francis Gore 1803 - Peter Bowman 1805 - and John 1808. George DARBY died 7 Dec 1812 Grantham Twp. and Margaret (BOWMAN) DARBY died 21 May 1843 Grantham. Can anyone tell me where they might have been buried? Was Ann DARBY who married John SCHRAM also the daughter of John DARBY? Looking for any information on the surname DARBY! Davidson -- My line of Davidson's came from Scotland and settled in Lansford, Carbon County, PA; Springfield, Illinois; and St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. I'm trying to learn more about my Ontario relatives. I know that my great grandfather's siblings Alex and Margaret lived in St. Catharines at one time. DENNIS -- Require information on family of Albert Hugh DENNIS, mayor of the City of Fort William Ontario 1920-21. Born 1871 Caistorville, Caistor Township, Lincoln County, later blacksmith St Thomas ON, foreman G. Stewart Co. carriage works in St Catherine's ON, St Thomas street railway employee and fireman there. Married Jean Alice Bradshaw 1 June 1907 Winnipeg MB. Died 20 April 1928 Fort William ON. Tentatively located in 1901 Census St Thomas ON but no luck identifying him or parents in earlier censuses. Since I am not related, I can provide no further information on his parents whose names I need for a book I am writing.

"Was brought home dead from work one day"; I have  never been able to locate his burial site, his wife's Catharine D 1829; nor who took in their three orphaned sons.
