query = I would like any information on John P. Corrigan, a farmer (b. 1859) who died in Watonga, Blaine Co. on 13 Feb. 1928 and was buried in Lexington, Kentucky, a few days later. I have his obituary from Kentucky, but wonder if there was also one in the Watonga newspaper. He lived in Blaine County at least since 1900, when he was listed in the census. I am also wondering if he was a participant in one of the Oklahoma Land runs.

Thanks!

query = ALLEN - MEDLLEY Family
I am researching the family of Margaret Catherine Medley b 22 Dec 1873, Dallas, Jasper; Margaret married Frederick William Allen on 17 March, 1892 at Seymour, Webster. Missouri. Margaret and Fred moved to Oklahoma around 1909. I have them in the 1910 Blaine, Canadian Twp and 1920 census in Blaine, Logan, Oklahoma... Margaret and Fred are buried in the City of Geary Cemetery Oklahoma. Information from a cousin that there were thirteen children born to this family (not verified). I know from the cemetery information one daughter and her husband is also buried at the Geary Cemetery. Lucy A Allen m James T. Shires. I believe another daughter Josephine Caroline Allen m to Floyd Henry Lewis went to Fresno, Clovis, California. Parents of Margaret were Milton Medley and Martha Ann Keller of Webster County, Missouri.
Would like to make contact with any descendants of this family to learn more about the family and share what I have.

I hate to bother you, but I am frustrated and I hope you can give me a suggestion.

According to family stories and obituaries, Thomas Lindsay participated in the land rush of 1893 and laid claim to land northeast of Okeene. The town Okeene is mentioned in several documents. But, he and his family appear in the 1900 census in Woods Co. and in 1910 and 1920 censuses in Major Co. (I know Major Co. was formed from part of Woods Co.). Everything points to the family living on this land until shortly after his death in 1925. They were enumerated in Deep Creek Township. Notheast of Okeene could be in Major Co., but looking at a map of Major Co. that shows landowners in 1906 I do not see any land assigned to any Lindsay.

I made an assumption that this land rush land would be in GLO records and checked their web site, but only found a Thomas Lindsey in the Oklahoma panhandle (Cimarron lands).

I am beginning to think they lived in Deep Creek Township, Major County (near Okeene).

I have not had any luck speaking with the people at the county clerks office in Major or Blaine Counties; they could not find any record for Thomas Lindsay. Can you suggest where I can find a land record for him?

Thanks.

Bob Winn

I am trying to find out more information on the above great Aunt and Uncle and their 6 children. I can trace them from Mo to Ok by 1900. In the 1910 census they are living in Geary City, Geary Township on Blaine Ave. Henry gives his occupation as a Street Commissioner. They have 3 daughters--Helen, 24, Mamie,19, and Ruth,17 still living at home.

They then disappear!!! I can find nothing in the 1920 or 30 census--even just looking up Henry or one of their sons--Jay and Eddie C. I have the death date of Harriett as April 11, 1915 so of course she would not be in the later census. However, I have requested a look-up from the library and they stated (via an inter-lib request) that they can not find a newspaper obit nor her name listed in their cemetery index. My information from a family historian/cousin in 1960 was, that she died there.

Any help in solving this would be appreciated. I would be willing to pay someone to do "look-ups" if you know someone who would do such. Example would be to recheck the library information given to me and get marriage info. on the daughters.

Thank you, Sharon Mock Whitaker [email protected]

Dear Katy,

I got your email address through the Blaine County Oklahoma Geneology website.

I was hoping you could help me in finding some information that I am researching for my father.

Recently my father found out that his mother may have had a child that she put up for adoption. He is now 78, and his sister is now 80. They are both interested in knowing if there was possibly a sibling that they did not know of. He has reason to believe that the birth occurred in Blaine County in 1925. I was wondering if there was any way to search the county records for that year for births by the mothers name.

My grandmother's name is even a little sketchy. Her name was Leola Monona Matthews. However, we believe that the original spelling of her last name was Mathews.

Please let me know if there is any online county records I could search, or if you have access to information.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Randy Wehmeyer
