Obituary of Harrison Dellinger

The Okeene Eagle, Vol XIV, No. 13, Friday, January 17 1908, p. 1

Mustered Out ------ Last Monday afternoon, Jany., 13th, 1908, Harrison
DELLINGER, who was stricken with paralysis a few days before and was being
cared for at the Hotel Okeene, in this town, passed over to the great
beyond. He was born in Ohio, Feby., 3rd, 1837. At the opening of the civil
war he enlisted in the 1st Ohio regiment and served to the end of the war,
receiving an honorable discharge. He was married and two sons and three
daughters were born to him when his wife passed on leaving him with the five
small children. The two sons died young. He came west and settled in
Missouri and at the opening of Oklahoma came to the new country to invest
his savings, of which he had a competence. In September, 1904, he married
Mrs. Adaline MILLS of Harrisonville, Mo., an acquaintance from his boyhood
days with whom he has since lived. He came here in December to look after
his investment and was stricken down with the fatal stroke. His wife and the
three daughters reached his bedside before the end came and he rallied
enough to have a pleasant visit with them before his death. His remains were
laid to rest in the Okeene cemetery. He leaves a wife and three daughters,
Mrs. C. E. YOUNG, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. G. A. FRANCIS, Pawnee Rock, Kas., and
Mrs. Jas. HALL, Isabelle, Okla., to mourn his departure. The bereaved
relatives have the sympathy of all of his old comrades and acquaintances.
[NOTE: Mr. DELLINGER is buried in the Roselawn/Okeene Cemetery Section 3,
Lot 108, Okeene, Blaine Co., Oklahoma.]
