Death has claimed a member of one of the
pioneer families of Dewey county.
Woodrow Frazier Bussing, son of Frederick K. and Marion C. Bussing was born November 26, 1884 at Homer, New York and came to Hutchison, Kansas, with his parents in April 1885. In 1898 the family moved to a home-stead ten miles west of Canton, Okla., and have lived in this vici- nity since. He departed this life at 2:30 p. m., February 6, 1941. On June 8, 1913 Woodrow F. Bussing took Lucy Burns as his wife. To this union were born four sons; Richard, Wilton, Keith and Norman. In 1914 he became a member of the Baptist Church and has been an active worker ever since. During this time he served as Superintendent of the Sunday School and teacher of Sunday School classes. He was also vitally interested in the welfare of the community and was active in the task of leading the community in con- structive activity. The immediate survivors in-clude his wife Lucy Burns Bus- sing, Fonda; four sons, Richard Bussing, Oklahoma City; Wilton, Keith, and Norman Bussing of the home address; his father, Fred K. Bussing, two sisters Adeline E. Miller and Atla L.Woods and Fred T. Bussing of Canton, Elbert C. Bussing of Bell, California and numerous friends. The loyalty of these early set- tlers was manifested by their presence at the funeral.
