Candidate for Nomination for the office of Sheriff of Richland County - August 11, 1914
I was born and raised four miles southwest of Mansfield in Troy Twp., this county, and attended school at what is known as Fairview School district, and later was graduated from Lexington High School.
I am a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Mansfield, Ohio, my family being of the same church affiliation. I am a member of Madison Lodge, No. 26, K. of P., Venus Lodge, No. 152, Free and Accepted Masons, and Mansfield Lodge, No. 336, F.O.E. For some time I was employed as deputy Sheriff and previous to that have worked on the farm and in the shop.
