Andrew Meeting was the son of Henry and Mary Elizabeth Meeting.  His parents immigrated to the United States  from Germany sometime around 1869 or 1870. Andrew was born May 5, 1866 in Germany, and died March 24, 1960 in Mansfield, Ohio.  He married Susan Whisler  June 24, 1896;  she was the daughter of Anthoney Whisler and Catherine Smith (sometimes spelled Schmidt)  of Loudonville.  Susan was born August 18, 1876 in Loudonville, and died May 5, 1963 in Mansfield.

Andrew and his older brother John lived in Richland County, and most of the rest of this family lived in Stark County in or near Massillon. Andrew was known for being an accomplished plasterer, and worked on several of the more famous public buildings in Mansfield including the Ohio State Reformatory, the May Building, and the old county courthouse that has been replaced.

Susan’s parents were farmers in the Loudonville area.  She and Andrew lived at 239 Sturges Avenue for most of their lives.  They were both Catholics.  Records show that her family immigrated from Belgium.
