PARRISH, Olive Marie
Olive Marie Parrish, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and
Mrs.
John Parrish of Broughton, O., died yesterday morning at 11:30 at St.
Joseph's hospital following an operation for appendicitis.
She
was brought to the hospital Saturday.
The body was removed the Getz and Cahill undertaking establishment and
shipped yesterday afternoon at 3:05 to Broughton, where funeral
services and burial will take place.

Parrish, a child

The daughter of J. B. Parrish was operated on in a Ft. Wayne hospital
for intestinal trouble. The operation was successful, but the
patient died Monday from its effects. Burial took place
Wednesday
at Blue Creek.

Dies At His
Home - Charles Franklin Parrish, 74, prominent farmer living in Jackson
Township, died at his home at 6:00 o'clock, Tuesday morning.
He
leaves his wife, four sons, Paul, walter, Wallace and Howard; three
daughters, Mrs. Will McBride, Mrs. George Baughman, and Mrs. Thomas
Snyder. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00
p.m.,
at the Blue Creek church with burial in the Bowholtz
cemetery.
Rev. Ward will officiate.

Charles Franklin
Parrish, son of
William and Lucretia Comer Parrish, was born in Putnam Co., Ohio, Feb.
14, 1870 and departed this life Feb. 22, 1944 at the age of 74 years
and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Clara L. Medley,
Feb.
24, 1895. To this union were born 8 children five sons and
three
daughters; one son Jesse having preceded him in death in September
1897. Those who mourn his going beside his wife are Howard
Parrish, Paulding, Ohio; Wallace Parrish, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Walter
Parrish, Paulding, O.; Cecil McBride, Flint, Mich.; Paul Parrish,
Paulding and Ruth Snyder, Grover Hill, Ohio. One sister,
Mabel
Adams of Melrose, Ohio, living and two sisters Julia Rogers and Kate
Potter also one brother John Henry Parrish have preceded him
death. Three half-brothers, Joshua, George and James and one
half-sister Rose Saunders. Fourteen Grand Children and four
Great
Grand Children, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Parrish came to
this county at
the age of 18 months and has lived his entire life on his farm on which
he passed away. He was active in his community,
serving as
school board member and trustee.
He was a kind and
loving husband and father always ready to help others when needed.

Clara L. (Date: July 16, 1959)
Rites Held for Mrs. Clara L. Parrish - Mrs. Clara L. Parrish,
83,
rt. 1, Paulding, a resident here for many years, died at 10:45 p.m.
Thursday in the Paulding County Memorial Hosopital where she had been a
patient two days.
She was a native of Putnam county.
Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Baughman,
Paulding,
Mrs. Cecil McBride, Cadillac, Mich., and Mrs. Ruth Snyder, Grover Hill;
four sons, Howard Parrish, Defiance, Wallace Parrish, Fort Wayne,
Walter Parrish, Paulding, and Paul Parrish, Montpelier; 16
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren,
and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Ladd, Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. Ella Smith,
Independence, Kan.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Blue Creek Evangelical
United Brethren Church by the Rev. Mark Burden.
Burial was in the Bowholtz cemetery.

Clyde (DATE: January 20,
1944)
Clyde Parrish, son of
John B. and
Kathryn M. Parrish was born in Jackson Township, Paulding County,
Paulding, Ohio, Nov. 9, 1896, departed this life January 6, 1944.
Age 47 years, one month and 27 days. December 31,
1920, he
was united in marriage to Blanche Coder. To this union were
born
six children, one daughter, Alta La Verne precedes him to the better
world. He leaves to mourn his departure four sons and one
daughter, Donald of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, John of the U. S. N. R.
stationed at Memphis Tennesee, Richard, Charles, Ruby Belle and the
children's mother at home; two sisters, Pearl at home, Alpha of
Monroeville, Indiana, and one brother, Art, of Defiance Ohio:

nieces and 4 nephews and a circle of relatives and friends to mourn
their loss. He was a good father, devoted brother, kind
neighbor
and a friend to all who knew him.

Jesse (DATE: September 9,
1897 - Paulding County Republican)
Jesse Parrish, of
Near Hedges,
Struck by a Nickel Plate Train Sunday Afternoon - Little Jesse Parrish,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parrish, residing two miles east of Hedges,
was struck by the west bound Nickel Plate train, Sunday afternoon, and
instantly killed. The child was but about fourteen months old.
The funeral services
were held at
the Liberal U.B. church, two miles east of Hedges, Rev. E. M.
Burrroughs officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the
Bowholtz cemetery.
PARRISH, Melissa
Aged Woman Dies At
Late Home
- Mrs. Melissa Parrish, 93, died at her home near Paulding at
2:20
p.m. Thursday. She was born in Fairfield
county, Ohio, but
had lived in this vicinity for the past 70 years. Her
husband,
William, died 40 years ago.
Surviving are a
daughter, Mrs.
Rose Saunders of Fort Wayne; three sons, George S. Fort Wayne and James
C. and Joshua B. of Paulding, a step-daughter, Mrs. Mabel Adams, of
Melrose, and a step-son, Charles F. Parrish of Paulding.
Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Creek church with Rev. Richard Ward
officiating.
Obituary Account -
Mrs. Melissa
(Shisler) Parrish,
daughter of Henry and Rebecca Shisler was born February 2, 1849 and
passed to her crowning December 4, 1941, aged 92 years, 10 months, and
one day. She moved with her parents to Paulding county when
six
years of age. She was united in marriage to William Parrish
November 29, 1873. To this union four children were given,
Joshua
B., Jas.C., Rose Ellen and George S. There were five
stepchildren: Catherine, Mable, Julia, Charles, and John
Henry.
Her husband, two step-daughters and one stepson preceded her in death.
She was converted in
her early
teens, and united with the Blue Creek U.B. church where she remained a
loved, honored, and faithful member until her death.
Other than her
children that bid her farewell are: 31 grandchildren, 45
greatgrandchildren, other relatives and friends.
PARRISH,
William (DATE: June 12, 1902)
William Parrish, the
deceased was
born in Crawford county, Ohio, Oct. 1 1830 and died at his home in
Paulding county March 17, 1902 aged 72 years 3 months and 16
days. The subject of this sketch was the son of JOhn and
Sarah
Parrish. He went with his parents to Putnam county, Ohio in
the
year 1836 when that county was a dense forest., they settled down on
160 acres in a log cabin to hugh out a home quite a few miles from any
other white family.
The deceased was
united in
marriage to Lucritia Comer in Putnam county in July 1858, to this union
was born three sons and three daughters one of which preceded him to
the better land. The wife died in 1870 leaving him with five
children. In 1872 he moved to Paulding county and purchased
the
present home which was then in its wild state. On Nov. 29th
1873
he was united in marriage with Mellisa Shisler and to this union were
born three sons and one daughter all of whom are still
living. He
leaves a wife, five sons, four daughters, two brothers and one sister
and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
He united with the
U.B. church
during the winter of 1877 under the administration of Rev. R. Gear and
has always remained an active worker and a true christian. He
was
baptized in the summer of 1896 in the Auglaize river at
Charloe.
We believe that he had complied with the word of God as to the
conditions of salvation, he was conscious all through his sickness and
knew the time was nearing for him to die, he called the family that was
present ot his bed and said he was sorry to leave them but he was going
home to rest and bid them all a last farewell. The remains
were
laid to rest in the Boholtz cemetery March 17, funeral services were
held at Blue Creek Sunday morning May 18th 1902 by Rev. H.P. Bucher of
Van Wert, Ohio.

to meet you when partings are no more.

PAXTON,
Milton (DATE: December 8, 1910)
Milton Paxton was
born in Greene County, Ohio, October 2, 1829, and died at Junction,
Paulding County, Ohio, Dec 4, 1910, aged 81 years, 2 months, 2 days. He
came to this county about 1860, and was married to Clara Bean in 1867.
Five children were born to this union - Charlotta Bell Parcher, John,
William, August and C. H. Paxton. Besides these he leaves 15
grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Paxton enlisted in Company
J 55th regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry on September 28, 1864, and was
honorably discharged on the 19th of June 1865. In his younger days Mr.
Paxton was a active member of the Methodist Church. For many years he
was a patient sulferer. He will be remembered for his many kindly
deeds. The funeral, in charge of Rev. D. F. Helms, was held at the
Junction Methodist Church Tuesday, December 6th at 10 a.m. Burial at
Junction.
PLUMLEY, Lois M.
(Decatur Daily Democrat, Decatur IN)
Lois M Plumley, 63,
and Adams County resident, of route 2, Monroeville, died at 8:30 pm
Sunday at home. She had been ill since last February. She was born in
Paulding County, OH, on July 31, 1923 to Fred and Farry Thompson-Cress
and married Robert W Plumley on July 27, 1947; he died May 22, 1985.
She was a housewife and an active member of Monroeville Church of the
Nazarene, a former board member and onetime Sunday School teacher.
Surviving are the mother, of route 2, Convoy OH; two sons, Larry
Plumley of route 5, and Jerry Plumley of 1107 Cambridge Ct; two
daughters, Mrs Richard (Sharon) Grace of route 2, Monroeville and Mrs
Johnie (Bev) Foster of route 3, Monroeville; three brothers, Rev
Delbert Cress of Rockford OH, Duane Cress of route 5, and Lowell Cress
of Atlanta GA; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at
10 am Wednesday in Monroeville Church of the Nazarene. Revs James
Wolford and Matt Blanton officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF
Cemetery at Convoy. Pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Herb Martin, Dale
House, Stan Cress, Lynn Cress, John Minerd, John Foster, and Ted Ruble.
Visiting hours at Zwick-Boltz-Jahn Funeral Home are 7-9 pm today and
2-5 and 7-9 pm Tuesday. Preferred memorials are gifts to the American
Cancer Society or the church building fund.
