HANDY, Electa Ambrossia (Bell)
Life's Sun Sets and the Twilight Gives a Place to Night: Obit of Electa Ambrossia (Bell) Handy - Very quick and sudden was the coming of night to Mrs. Handy, relict of R. A. Handy. Despite her more than fourscore years, she had enjoyed good health until a few days before her demise. She had been about, however, calling for help on Friday morning, a neighbor ran over, helped her to bed and called a physician. But she was beyond human aid and at about 10 a m she sank into an un-waking slumber.
Electa Ambrossia Handy was born July 12, 1834 at Jonesville, Mich. and died Feb. 26, 1913, aged 80 yrs, 7 mos, and 8 days.
She came to Carryall Township, Paulding County, Ohio with her parents at the age of 6 years, when Ohio was a wilderness. (note-we believe she may have been older than 6 years as we know that he step-sis, Eliza Chapman was born in 1841, Cordelia Chapman was born in 1842. Her step-sis, Corintha Chapman was the first born in Ohio in 1847, per the 1850 Paulding County, Ohio census - - this would place her age at 13 years old). She was married to R. A. Handy July 10, 1855. She was the mother of six children, five of whom are living, one having passed away to the great beyond about 18 months ago. Mr. and Mrs. Handy were converted and joined the Methodist Church many years ago. After the death of her husband, about four years ago, she left the farm and moved to Antwerp. She united with the Presbyterian church where she has been a faithful member.
The funeral was conducted Monday at 1 pm at the Presbyterian church by the pastor, Rev. R. C. VanCamp.

HANDY, Reveras Ashley
The Husband of Electa Ambrossia (Bell) Handy - Reveras Ashley Handy, was born Sept. 19th, 1826 in Oneida county, New York and departed this life Aug. 15th, 1910 at his home one mile northwest of Forder's Bridge. Aged 83 years, 10 months and 26 days. He came to Ohio from New York state in 1844 and for years aided in rafting logs along the Maumee River. On July 10, 1855, he was united in marriage to Electa A. Bell and to this union were born 6 daughters, all of whom survive him. Shortly after his marriage he bought a tract of government land and in the spring of the following year, he removed to the farm which has been his residency ever since. He was a firm believer in God and led a true Christian life. A good husband and father, he was all that could be desired. He leaves to mourn his departure, his loving wife, his mother-in-law, Grandma Chapman, 6 daughters, 12 grand-children and 3 great-grand-children and numerous friends. Funeral services were conducted from Bethel Chapel, Wednesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. J. Phillips. Interment in Riverside cemetery at Antwerp.

HEAZLIT, Garra Porter (DATED: 10 July 1902)
Garra Porter Heazlit, died at Hope Hospital Ft. Wayne, Ind., June 29, 1902 of paralysis, aged 37 years, 7 months and 21 days, leaving a wife, three children and one brother. Deceased was born near Cecil, Paulding county Nov. 8, 1864, where he was married to Ida Latimore Nov. 8, 1888. To this union five children were born, a little girl and boy have passed to Spirit life while two little girls and a boy remain to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father. Funeral services were conducted by F.D. Dunakin July 2nd at Presbyterian church at Cecil and the remains were laid to rest in Rochester cemetery.

HEAZLIT, Perry (DATED: 2 February, 1928)
Perry Heazlit was born at Strongeville, Ohio, March 24, 1851. Died at his home, Cecil, Ohio, January 25, 1928. He was married to Mary E. White, October 25th, 1881. To their union four children were born--Lyle, who died at the age of six years, Mrs. William Gordon and Guy Heazlit of Cecil, and Elsie Heazlit, of Cleveland. In his early years he taught several terms of school near his home in Cuyahoga county, Ohio. Came to Paulding county at the time of his marriage and spent the remainder of his life here, excepting two years at Omaha, Neb., where he was engaged in railroad work. In his public work he served fifteen years as a member of the local school board, also two terms as county commissioner.
