BRUSH, Myrtle H.
Myrtle H. Brush was born December 14th, 1875 and died Nov. 24, 1913, aged 37 years, 11 months, 10 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Handy, and the wife of Oscar Brush, to whom she was married June 1897 and with whom she lived sixteen years as a faithful, devoted and loving help-mate. She had been in poor health for a number of years, especially during the last year. She was a great, though patient and silent, sufferer. Hoping for relief from her suffering, she submitted to undergo a surgical operation, which however, failed to give her the hoped for relief. Still hoping to save her life, her friends took her last Saturday to a hospital in Ft. Wayne for a second operation, where she died peacefully on Monday morning. Was converted a number of years ago in the Bethel M. e. church and has been a faithful member since that time. In disposition, Mrs. Brush was optimistic, always looking on the bright side and ready to lend a helping hand. Her Christianity was the practical kind, that is lived and acted out in deeds as well as words. She leaves to mourn her departure, husband, mother, five sisters and numerous other relatives and friends. Her father preceded her in death about three years ago, with whom she has gone to be united on the other shore. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, Antwerp, Rev. S. W. Metz officiating. Interment in the Maumee Cemetery.
