History of Lake Township, Stark County, Ohio

Lake Township is located in the northwest corner of Stark County, Ohio.  Our history is a source of pride for our communities.  The settlers of the early 1800's, followed by the Amish and Mennonites as early as the 1830's, brought an agricultural lifestyle to the somewhat rolling hills and valleys.  As early as the 1870's the muck farmers raised produce for eastern markets.  The advent of industrial pursuits came into existence in the early 1900's.  Today, the communities of Lake maintain the flavor of both agriculture and industry.  We are looking for historical information about these communities in Lake Township.  If you would like to contribute information, please contact us at: [email protected]
