GazetteFriday, May 18, 1962 Mrs. Cora Sonner, 99, of Hillsboro, Rt. 7, died at 6:35 A. M. Monday at Highlands Community Hospital where she had been confined since May 10. She would have been 100 years old next October 26. She was born in 1862. She was born near New Market, the daughter of Francis and Evaline Emrie Shaffer. Her husband Charles Sonner, died on July 15, 1898. She was the oldest member of the New Market Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Ernest M. Sonner, Hillsboro, Rt. 2 two grandsons, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 2 P.M. at the New Market Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clifford Jacobson and Rev. Harry Arthur officiating and burial following in the church cemetery under the direction of Rhoads Funeral Home. |
