7. on Fr I got word by Edl Frey that  my daughter Mary in Winchester died

        this morn & is to be buryed tomorrow. Hosea & my wife went there in

        carriage. she died with consumption. has been declining about 2

        years. has left 4 daughters. clear & cold.

May 1 on Th I have had a sick night. clear.

         yesterday. some clouds.

5. on Mo I am about as I have ben. O that the Lord would be mercifull to me

         & grant me relief from suffering.

May 15 & 16 entries were made by youngest son, Robert, 1845



15. on We he was taken worse about 1 oclock. he slept till 4 oclock. Then he

         awoke very sick. thought he was dying. was in great misery for 2 or

         3 hours. He said he was hapy very happy though very sick. He said

         he was with Jesus Christ already. His voice soon failed him. He

         till seemed sensible though. soon fell to sleep of insensibilty. He

         never moved any more but his breath reamained 12 hours. at 7 oclock

         evening he died.


16. on Thursday his remains were conveyed to the meeting house where his

         funeral was preachd by Eld Craven from Revelations 14 chap. 13

         verse. Thus ends the life of this venerable father whose age was

         almost sixty five.
