16. on Mo I went to Hillsboro to court. there was a case of riot in Greanfield tried. 2 out of 5 found guilty. clear & warm.
17. on Tu the jury was calld to try George Morris for steeling gears harness etc. raind some in morning. some warmer.
18. on We the Morris case on had 14 or 15 witnesses was examned. the jury sent out near night & made up their verdict of not guilty about 8 olcock it night. cloudy & mudy. between 1 & 2 hundred Irish in uniform marchd from Hillsboro to New Market & took dinner at Esq Baughs & returnd at even with the band of musick. they celebrate it for st Patrick.

3. on Su I we detaind at home by hard rain in AM & a severe shower of rain. wind & thunder in PM. at between 3 & 4 oclock in PM a powerfull storm passd over New Market & blew down our new meeting house in that villige. the ruff was taken off & the two end walls. one to the bottom of the windows & the other to the stone foundation. one stove broke & the pulpit & most of the seats distroyd. I pray the Lord to sanctify this callamity to the good of the church & vicinity.
