Jan. 1, 1826 On Su New Years day I was at home unwell with a distress in my

        head & one ear. my wife is some better & set up some. cold & snowd

     some.

 

2. on Mo I wove & got out the peace of geans. clear & cold.

 

3. on Tu I warpd a peace for blankets for Mary & sisd it & drew it through

        geers. clear & warm.

 

4. on We I got the peace to working & wove some. it is twill. clear & cold

        again.

 

5. on Th I wove some. my head is worse. Mary movd her things to day to go

         to keeping house. clear & cold.

 

6. on Fr I wove on the twill. cloudy.

 

7. on Sa I wove. it raind some. warm.

 

8. on Su I was at home. sister Wood came here. part cloudy & warm.

12. on Th I loded 50 bushels of wheet in to 2 waggons & started J Dunn &

        Hosea to Sheppards mill with it & went a peace with them then came

     home & pickd beens. clear after a thick fog.

16. on Mo I workd at shoemaking. Hosea went to Hillsboro & got 8 flower

Nov 1 Yesterday I went to Hillsboro & today made shoes. it raind hard.

3. on Fr I went to Mr Barretts & ground apples for cider. clear & warm.

 

4. on Sa I made barrels of cider. it raind till noon.

 

5. on Su I went to New Market & heard Mr Steal preach from ³you hath he

         quickened etc² cloud. raind at night.

 

6. on Mo I went & finisd my cider, got a barrel & half more. cloudy. raind

        hard at night.

 

7. on Tu I hald 4 lodes of wood & built the little crib higher & went to

        bro Sheppards at night to meeting. br Johnson explaind the IX chap

        of 1st Cor. cloudy.

 

8. on We I huskd & halld 2 lodes of corn. B Martain helpd. clear.

 

9. on Th this morn between 12 & 1 I was taken with the Choleramorbus which

        was severe till sun rise but i was unable to set up. the boys dug

        potatoes.

11. on Sa I was some better &  rackd & straind & made 2 barrels of cider

        royal. the boys huskd & halld 2 lodes of corn & took 20 bus to

        Samuel Holms. clear.

 

12. on Su was at home. some of my friends came in to see me. clear & cold.

 

13. on Mo I had 2 men to butcher 3 hoggs & salted near 3 barrels for to

         send down the river. the heviest hogg weighd 280. the whole weighd

      635. clear & cold.

 

14. on Tu I dug potatoes. some cloudy. bro Johnson preachd here at night

         from 2nd Cor V & 11 & explaind the former verses.

 

15. on We I huskd & halld 2 lodes of corn. clear & warm.

 

16. on Th I huskd & halld 3 lodes of corn the last of this years crop. it is

        better than common. J Tomson helpd me. part clear.

 

17. on Fr I getherd near 20 bushels of turnups & put up & swapd horses with

        John Tomson & am to have the cuting of 9 cords of wood to boot. the

     air turnd cold towards night. it raind in morn. I was taken at night

     with the cholic severe.

 

18. on Sa I was bad with the cholic  took a corn sweat. the day was cold.


19. on Su I was still bad the pain movd to my left side.

 

20. on Mo I was so as to set up a little the pain setled in to my bowels

         again.

 

21. on Tu I set up most of the day. clear.

 

22. on We I set up & pidled a little towards helping Hosea fix for a start.

        some cloudy.

 

23. on Th I helpd Hosea & Jessey about starting to the river with the

         waggon. clear.

 

24. on Fr I rackd off a barel of cider. cloudy.

 

25. on Sa I rackd off the remainder of my cider. it snowd all day.

 

26. on Su I went to New Market to meeting. bro Johnson preachd from

        st John VII & 37-38. Jessey returnd from Ripley about 10 oclock &

        left Hosea to return no more till he makes his voyage. oh that the

        Lord will preserve him & prosper his way before him to day is cloudy

        the snow about 6 intches deep.

 

27. on Mo I did but little more than take care of the creatures. cloudy &

        cold.

 

28. on Tu I cut out & closd a pare of shoes for Eliza. cloudy & cold.

 

29. on We I made Elizas shoes. clear.

 

30. on Th I started to go to meeting it being Thanksgiving day but met

         Joseph Grant & wife & returnd. mostly clear.


 

 

Dec 1 on Fr I pulld some turnups & took to bro Sheppard. we all went there

        on a visit. clear. the snow nearly gone.

3. on Su I went to New Market to sosiety.clouded up. cold.

16. on Sa I went to Hillsboro * with Hezekiah Johnson & got licens for him

        to marry Eliza then went to church meeting. Elder Laymon came home

     with us & maried Hezekiah Johnson to my daughter Eliza without

     waitors. cloudy in the morn.

 

17. on Su I went to meeting. Mr Laymon preachd from Acts II & 41. bro

         Johnson concluded with a few observations then Elder Laymon

      administerd the Lords supper. the day was clear.

 

18. on Mo I cut some logs & drew in a pece. it was clear. grew cold towards

        night.

 

19. on Tu I halld some logs & went to Mr Gossetts & got some apple Jack

        then wove some. cold & cloudy.

 

20. on We I went to the fulling mill & got a peace of flannel they wove.

         clear.

 

21. on Th I wove. it raind in the morning.

25. on Christmas I wove & got out Benj Eakins peace for foold cloth 27 1/2
