January, 1808
January the 1 1808. On Fri I thrashd & cleand up 4 1/2 bus of wheet out of 6 doz.
2. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Mr Sm text was in psalm XIX & 12. after sermon there was 9 examond & then baptisd at bridgetown. I went to singing school in the evening it being the first of a quarter I have under taken to teach.
3. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in st John III& 14. after sermon the 9 that was Baptisd yesterday was taken in to the church & the Supper or our Lord administerd.
4. On Mon I made a ladder & did some to a waggon house.
5. On Tues I went to mill & workd at a waggon shed.
6. On Wed I thrashd 21 bus of corn. the snow 3 inches deep.
7. On Thurs I cilld hoggs. father helpd me & J Harris & J Platts. I took 2 hoggs away one to Ephraem Woodruff & the other to Enos W. I have cilld 6 hoggs this season. they all weigh 1282.
8. On Fri I cut up & salted my pork & cleand up some corn & went to Mr Johnson Reeves to evening meeting. Mr Reeves peachd from proverbs XIV& 32.
9. On Sat I sowd the in seam of a shoe & went Shilo meeting. Mr Reeves preachd from st John III & 14. then went to singing school in the evening.
10. On Sun I went to meeting. Wm Steelings preachd form Rev XXII & 17. came home & dind then went to the court house whare Steelings preachd from Ecles XX & 1.
11. On Mon I finishd a pare of shoes for Charles & made a pare of brests straps & a block to cut sasage meet on.
12. On Tues I made a pair of swivel trees & went to John Reeves s & got some smith work done.
13. On Wed I thrashd some oats & helpd Amy stuff sasages. we cleand some fowls this evening for market.
14. On Thurs I started to Philladelphia about 3 oclock in the morning with Reuben Sheppard.we got to the ferry about 9 oclock PM. it snowd all day & was very cold.
15. On Fri I crosd intothe citty about 9 ocl & sold my market stuff then went & saw Brother Samuel & went to uncle Daniels & to see D J Swiney & then went & stade all night with Samuel.
16. On Sat I started from the Alms house & got some things & crosd over the river & started home at 1 oclock & got her after midnight. it remains very cold.
17. On Sun I stade at home & slep some for I was very weary after my jurney.
18. On Mon I went to Mr Bishops & pidled about.
19. On Tues I thrashd oats. it was blustry.
20. On Wed I went to mill & took up some flax. then went to singing school in the evening.
21. On Thurs I took up my flax & carted it in.
22. On Fri I cut some fire wood.
23. On Sat I drew the nails out of the old shop ruff & straitend them.
24. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Isai LII & 7.
25. On Mon I thrashd 10 doz of wheet. Charles helpd me.
26. On Tues I thrashd 2 doz & cleand up 9 1/2 bus of wheet. then cilld a dalf & went to singing school.
27. On Wed I went to Bridgetown & sold my veal.
28. On Thurs I receivd a letter from E Bereman & one from Sally Johonson. I went to Enoc Burgens Vendu & to Oxwell Ayres & then to Mr Randolphs to meeting. John Davis preachd from 2nd thes III & 16.
29. On Fri I warpd a peace & beamd it on.
30. On Sat I thrashd 10 doz of wheet. Charles helpd me.
31. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in st John VI & 40.
February th 1. On Mon I drew in a peace.
2. On Tues I helpd daddy cill hogs & then went to singing school.
3. On Wed I went to Woodruffs Mill & carted 2 lodes of pine logs.
4. On Thurs I carted 3 lodew of pine logs.
5. On Fri I brought home a lode of boards & went to mill.
6. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in Romans X & 10. after sermon there were 5 persons examond & baptisd.
7. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Luke 11 & 3. after sermon the 5 that were baptisd yesterday were receivd in to the church. then we celebrated the supper of our Lord.
8. On Mon I helpd uncle Joel cill a beef & 2 hogs & then wove some.
9. On Tues I broke flax.
10. On Wed I was very unwell & mowd a little & went to father in laws. I did not go to singing school.
11. On Thurs I went to hanns mill & carted a lode of logs in.
12. On Fri I carted in two lodes of logs & brought home a lode of boards 20 feet long for the barn floar.
13. On Sat I went to a meeting of bisuness. Wm Steelings preachd from 2nd Kings IV & 26. then went to the bridge.
14. On Sun I went to meeting. Wm Steelings preachd from Jude 17-18 verses . 15. On Mon I thrashd one dozen of wheet & was hen taken sick & kepd my bed the rest of the day.
16. On Tues I sat up the most of the day.
17. On Wed I was some better & wove a little & went to singing school in the evening.
18. On Thurs I winerd the wheet that came out of 16 doz. I was not well.
19. On Fri I went to Brother Marks a visiting.
20. On Sat I was very unwell.
21. On Sun I was yet unwell & stade at home & red.
22. On Mon I workd at a pare of shoes for Isaac.
23. On Tues I finishd a pare of shoes & went to mill then carted a lode of fire wood.

28. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Brown from Salem preachd from 2nd Timothy 1 & 4. I came home & dind then went to the court house whare Mr Brown preachd from Hebr VII & 25. 29. On Mon I trimd apple trees. it ws warm & pleasant.

March th 1. On Tues I trimd apple trees & went to Bridgetown.
* 2. On Wed I thrashd 8 doz of wheet & went to singing school. this Day Father in low was maried to the widdow Lettishia Platts. he has been a widdoware 2 months & 28 days.
3. On Thurs I winerd some wheet. was unwell.
4. On Fri I cleand up wheet the last 48 doz made 33 bushels.
5. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in 1st Peter II & 2. after sermon ther were 2 persons examond & baptisd. I took my gammons 8 to uncle Johnsons to smoke.
6. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in the Eighty fourt Psalm & 11 verse. after sermon the 2 that was Baptisd yesterday was receivd the the Lords supper administerd.

19. On Sat I helpd uncle Joel cill a hogg & cut some wood in the orchard. Charles began to plow for corn.
20. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in st John XVI & 27.
21. On Mon I cut wood in the orchard. I went to singing school.
22. On Tues I finishd cuting wood in the orchard. Isaad Wheeton came hear a visiting.
23. On Wed I ccarted wood brush from the orchard & went to bridgetwon.

25. On Fri I grubd some cllants & cleand up some oats & went to mill. Samuel came here.

April th 1. On Fri I thrashd oats & went to bridgetown.
2. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Brother Samuel preachd from Cor I 22-23 & 24 verses. after the sermon there were 2 candidates examond. then I came home & went to singing school. it was te last one.
3. On Sun I went to meeting. Brother D Swiney preachd from Isai XLI & 10. then we surrounded the Lord table.
4. On Mon I went to the company training at Bridgetwon.
5. On Tues I cleand up 18 bushels of oats & wove some.
6. On Wed I went & helpd Mr Smalley move a barn.
7 On Thurs I sowd my flax in AM & dresd flax in PM.
8. On Fri I sowd my flax cede & dresd 9 lb of flax.
9. On Sat I was sick. it raind hail & snowd a good deal. cold. peach trees in full bloom.
10. On Sun I went to meeting. Brother Samuel preachd from Jeremiah XXII 29. then came home & dind & went to the court house. Brother Samuel preachd from Rev XXII & 17. then there was 2 baptisd.

22. On Fri I wove 11 1/2 yds & got out the peace. it ws 32 1/2 yds long.
23. On Sat I went to Woodruffs mill & got a lode of baords & slabs.
24. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Gen VI & 9 then came home & dind & went to the court house. Mr Sms text was in Luke XVIII 10-14.
25. On Mon I made some board fence in the swamp belo the line & shard a ram. Samuel came hear. father came & got 5 bushels of corn & 5 of wheet.
26. On Tues I started to Philladelphia & got there about half past four. Brother Samuel & Ann Gillman went with me. I stade at uncle Daniels.
27. On Wed I went about the citty till 2 oclock then started home. Ann Gillman & Lydia came with me. I took 2 sheep & brought them home again. got home after midnight.
28. On Thurs I warpd a short peace & went tothe Vendue of John Hanns dec. & bought a large harrow & other notions.
29. On Fri I went to John Reevs s & got some work done. then came home & went to the Vendue that was finishd yeaterday.
May th 1. On Sun I went to meeting. D Swiney preachd from Num XXXII & 23. came home & dind then went to the school house. Wm Steelings preachd from James I from 22 to 25 enclusv.
2. On Mon I drew in the peace & wove one yd.
3. On Tues I wove 6 yds.
4. On Wed I wove & got out the peace. it was 13 yd long.
5. On Thurs I made a sheath to my soard & botomd 2 chares with ceder bark. this was Battalian training day.
6. On Fri I made a small gate & hung it & cilld a sheep.
7. On Sat I went to the saw mill at bridgetown & got some ruffs then went to yearly meeting. Mr Montanye preachd from Isai XXV & 6. in the after noon Mr White preachd from Isai XI 11 & 21.
8. On Sun I went to yearly meeting. Mr Montanye preachd from LX psalm & 4 verce & after a short inter mission White preachd from Hebrews I & 14 then we surrounded the Lords table. receivd 4 members. then Montanya & White administerd the supper. the Tubmans came home with us.
9. On Mon I went to yearly meeting. Mr Montanya preachd from Eacler IV & 16 then Mr White preachd from st John XViii & 26. the meeting ended. Now may the Lord add his blesings to what has been said.
10. On Tues I made some fence & plantedsome corn.
11. On Wed I made a curtin frome & whet my saw.
12. On Thurs I went to mill & then planted corn in PM. I took my coults & 3 kents to paster.
13. On Fri I dungd corn hill in AM & went to Ozwell Ayres s.
14. On Sat I did up some fence along the woods in AM & planted corn in PM.
15. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in st Peter V & 10. came & dind then went to society meeting at the school house. Mr Swiney preachd from Heb IV & 13.

24. On Fri I mended some shoes & went to Shilo to get my waggon wheel & took to John Reeves to tire & bought a molases hogshead & gave 6 dollars for it.
25. On Sat I sowd some clover & ridled some wheet & took 9 1/2 bus to mill & went to the bridge & got my waggon wheel then opend the hogshead & got 3 gallons of molases & one hundred & 25 lb of shugar.

2. On Sat I was twenty eight years old & went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in John V & 43. after sermon there was 2 men examond. after I came home I went to bridgetown & got anew cythe.
3. On Sun I went to meeting.Mr Carlile preachdfrom Rom I & 16. after sermon there was 4 receivd in to the church. one examond & the Lords supper administerd.
4. On Mon I went to titworths marsh & mowd for daddy.
5. On Tues I rakd my hay & brought home a lode.
6. On Wed I dresd some flax & went to the marsh & fechd home a lode of hay.
7. On Thurs I carted 2 lodes of hay & got mine all home. uncle Joel carted 2 lodes for me.
8. On Fri I made a new set of fingers to my cradol.
9. On Sat I went to Mr Bishops & ground a new mowing cythe & my cradole cythe & cradold some wheet in the after noon.
10. On Sun I went to meeting. MrSms text was in Duter VIII & 2.

12. On Tues I cradold & carted in wheet.
13. On Wed I cradold wheet for daddy. there was a hard shower at night.
14. On Thurs I went & pickd some huckle burys in the fore noon & cradold wheet in thte after noon.

16. On Sat I carted some dung in to the potatoe pach & then went to the marsh & carted a lod of hay for uncle Joel.
17. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in John IV & 10. after sermon there was a prayer meeting.
18. On Mon I finishd planting potatoes & fencd the pach.
19. On Tues I went to Ozwell Ayres & got a set of waggon hubs & took to John Reeves to band. then cradold oats.
20. On Wed I made a blind bridle & went to bridgetown.
21. On Thurs I & Amy went over matles bridge & pickd a bushel of huckle burys.
22. On Fri I cradold some oats in the for noon & helpd uncle Joel take up oats in PM.
23. On Sat I cracold oats.

25. On Mon I finishd cradoling oats & took my waggon hubs to Shilo. we made a bed cord.
26. On Tues I took up oats & carted my flax.
27. On Wed I went over the new Mills a huckleburying. Ozwell & Lydia went with me & Charles. we got better than 2 bushels.
28. On Thurs I tok up oats & carted in all of them. there was 92 doz. Amy had a quilting.
29. On Fri I cardold oats for uncle Joel in AM. our 2 youngest children was sick.
30. On Sat I made cythe sheath & helpd Mr Bishop reais a cyder press. I heapd some dung. 31. On Sun I went to meeting.Mr Sms text wasin Mat XI & 29. after sermon the youth repeated the catechis. then came home & dind & went to our school house whare Mr Steelings preachd from Hebrews VIII & 1 - 2.
August th 1. On Mon I cradold oats for uncle Joel & went to Bridgetown in the after noon to hear the excuses of te militia.
2. On Tues I took up oats for father in law.
3. On Wed I carted 2 lodes of hay for Jonathan Platts from Browns marsh.
4. On Thurs I sowd a little buck wheet & mowd in the swamp.
5. On Fri I went up into the woods near NoblesMill & got a lode of posts then ground my cythe. I went to bridgetown at evening.
6. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Mr Steelings preachd from Hebrews XI & 6. after sermon Charles & Mrs Smith was examond & then went to the mill pond whare Mr Smalley Baptisd them.

18. On Thurs I went to tindons island & M owd on father in laws marsh. Ozwell mowd for me.
19. On Fri I began to lay the barn floor. Ozwell Ayres helpd me.
20. On Sat I ground up my cythe & made a ruff over the well & made a rope for a close line.
21. On Sun I went to meeting. David Dare red a sermon from Roms X & 1. it is the time of yearly meeting at Salem. I went to society meeting at the school house.
22. On Mon I mowd at the island for father in law.
23. On Tues I workd at the barn floar. Ozwell helpd me.

September th 1. On Thurs I workd for Denis at rakein & carting out hay. we finishd & came home in the night.
2. On Fri I pickd up apples & ground a lode at evening.
3. On Sat I went & lade up the humis then went to monthly meeting. Dr Jones preachd from Colos I & 28. there was 2 examond & baptisd.
4. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Acts III & 18. there were 2 receivd in to the church. then the supper administed. there has been a long dry spell.
5. On Mon Ithrashd a little wheet & carted a lode of cord wood.
6. On Tues I carted a lode of cosway poles to the marsh & sound some of the cattle that ran away. there was a shower in PM.
7. On Wed I mowd rakd clover. J Platts helpd me.
8. On Thurs I hung a gate at the garden & went to the mill & carted in the clover hay.
9. On Fri I went & pade Benjamin Minch the vendue account of John Janns. I carted a lode of cord wood in the after noon.
10. On Sat I made a handle to my plow & went to John Reeves s & got the plow irons sharpend.
11. On Sun I was sick & kept my bed the most of the day.
12. On Mon I helpd Charles make 4 barels of cider & began to cart dung.
13. On Tues I was very unwell. dady & mother came here a visiting.

* 20. On Tues I cut some hoop poles & mended a pare of shoes for Charles & then went to fathers & saw Sister Polly maried to Edward Welch by Mr Smalley.
21. On Wed I topd some corn & made a stock bottom.
22. On Thurs I rrakd my hay & carted it. R Sheppard Joel Harris & D Platts carted for me. frost & ice this morn. it hurt corn very much.
23. On Fri I carted a lode of hay to Ozwell Ayres & then carted a lode for Jonathan Platts.
24. On St I pickd up some apples & made cider.
25. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Prov VIII & from 34 to the end.

October, 1808
October th 1. On Sat I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in the V Chaper of John & the two last verses. after sermon we attended to the bisness of the church.
2. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in st John Vii & 46. after sermon we surrounded the table of our Lord then came home & dind then went to the school house whare Wm Steelings preachd from Colos III & 5. I wrote a letter to Brother Samuel.
3. On Mon I carted dung.
4. On Tues I tok my cattle to the marsh & carted a lode of hay for daddy from titsworth marsh.
5. On Wed I got a lode of fire wood & carted dung.
6. On Thurs I carted dung. daddys boys helpd me.
7. On Fri I finishd carting dung. I had 41 lodes. then spred some. Charles plowd.
8. On Sat I spred & went to father in laws.
9. On Sun I went to meeting. Brother Samuel preachd from Math XXVI & 41. then went to the court house whare Brother Samuel preachd from Hebrews XII & 1-2. Samuel beld Amy.
10. On Mon I spred dung & went to Mr Bishops & got a half barrel of Jack. I went to Shilo to meeting in the evening. Mr David a stranger preachd from Reve III & 19.
11. On Tues I thrashd wheet. John Fisher helpd me.
12. On Wed I went to father in laws a visiting & from there to bridgetown to election.

22. On Sat I cut out a pare of shoes then went to daddys & helpd him cill a pig. it was 8 months & 8 days old & weighd 216 lb.

November, 1808
November th 1. On Tues I trimd the swing tree & went to marsh meeting & was put in assesor.
2. On Wed and Thurs I huskd & carted 2 lodes of corn.
4. On Fri I huskd corn & carted in 3 lodes & finishd. I had better than three hundred bushels of ears.
5. On Sat I carted some stocks & went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in Hahum I & 7. after sermon there was one examond & Baptisd.
6. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in st PeterI & 16. there was one taken into the church & then the table surrounded & the supper administerd.
7. On Mon I made a shoe for Charles & dug potatoes. I had about 18 bushels.
8. On Tues I went & took a barrel of cider to Wm Marret & one to John Reeves & got my mare shod.
9. On Wed I cleand my poultry & fencd the stocks & gpt reddy to go to market.
10. On Thurs I started at 1/2 past 4 oclock AM for Philladelphia. Ozwell & Lydia & Charles went. we got in to town about dusk & went to the musiem & saw the wonderfull works of Nature.
11. On Fri I sold my market stuff very lo. markets was very dull & crosd the river at evening & started for home about 7 oclock.
12. On Sat I got home from Philladelphia about 8 in the morning & buryed my potatoes.
13. On Sun I stade at home. it raind the most of the day.
14. On Mon I went to bridgetown to the oficers training.
15. On Tues I carted a lode of cord wood to Lewis Mulford then went to father in laws to a choping frolic.
16. On Wed I went to the marsh & wheeld mud on the 16 rod dam 17. On Thurs I carted out the flax & carted hay that grew in the swamp & then went to Shilo & took my waggon wheels to John Reeves to get tird.

21. On Mon I cut out & closd a pare of lace boots for my self & cleand my flax cede.

23. On Wed I finishd my shoes & went into the back woods got a lode of pine nots.

26. On Sat I went & took 2 bushels of flax cede to Wm Potter & went to John Reeves s & then came home & went to Mr Gilmans a trustee to settle the church bisiniss.
27. On Sun I stade at home & kept the child.

Decmeber th 1. On Thurs I sawd & split some logs for fire wood & winerd some wheet & carted a lode of wood & went to Mr Smalleys to society meeting.
2. On Fri I geard the coult for the first time & harrowd a spell then went into the woods & got a little wood & then cut out a pare of thins shoes for Amy & for me.
3. On Sat I drew off my cider & went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in Ephe I & 11. after sermon did some bisuness.
4. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Revens XV 2 & 3. then surrounded the table of our blesed Lord.
5. On Mon I dresd flax.
6. On Tues I carted a lode of fire wood & thrashd some oats.
7. On Wed I dresd flax & thrashd some oats. it came on to snow and was 2 inches deep.
8. On Thurs I soald a pare of shoes for Mrs Bishop & cleand some wheet & oats. I went to D Platts to society meeting. Mr Smalley spoke from the XVII Chapter of Math.
9. On Fri I went to mill & took a grist then went to the swamp & shot a rabbit.
10. On Sat I went to bridgetown & got 2 hats for the boys & went to the mill & got a grist then went to father in laws & stade the evening.

20. On Tues I went to the bridge & took one hind quarter of beef to John Reeves & paid tax & bought a dining table at James Burch s Vendue. this was the day of drafting in our company.
21. On Wed I helpd uncle Joel cill 6 hoggs & went to bridge town to draft 10 men.
22. On Thurs I went to mill & then hoopd a meat tub & slated my beef & put a troft in the coults stable & went to father in laws to society meeting.
23. On Fri I mended a chare & cleand up 4 bushels of wheet.
24. On Sat I workd at a pare of shoes for David Platts soms. 25. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in 1st timothy III & 19.
