January, 1806
January 1 1806. On Wed I pade uncle Joel Harris 16 1/2 Dol for a pare of st--ess that I had bought. find a grist to send to mill & then went to bridgetown & got Judgment against W Robinson for 1 - 50 D on Squire Burgins docit.
2. On Thurs I thrashd & cleand up 5 bus of oats.
3. On Fri I thrashd some oats & made a shoe for daddy.
4. On Sat I thrashd some oate then went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in Math XXVI & 41. I came home after bisness & cleand up 12 bus of oats.
5. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Roms IX & 24. after sermon surrounded the table of our Lord.
6. On Mon I made a shoe for daddy & began a pare for my self.
7. On Tues I made a shoe for my self then went to the meeting house to prayer meeting.
8. On Wed I made a broom & went to the bridge & settld for my flax ceed
9. On Thurs I pidled about. very cold.
10. On Fri I thrashd my oats at daddys barn.
11. On Sat I finishd thrashing oats at daddys & cleand out 3 bus.
12. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Math XIII & 23.
13. On Mon I went to John Reeves s to get Abijah Walling to make a boulster to my waggon & got it ground.
14. On Tues I went to daddys & cleand up my oats. I had 24 1/2 bus. then went & setled with the widdow Randolph & got 47 cents.
15. On Wed I fixd a shetter to one of the seller windows & stopd up the next.
16. On Thurs I dresd a little flax.
17. On fri I took a lode of wheet to daddys & carted the straw of my oats on to Hanns place & brought home the oats & left daddy 17 bus.
18. On Sat I went to lebenon & got some railes on John Perrys swamp & brought home 32.
19. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Josh XXIV & 15. after sermon the youth repeated the catechism.
20. On Mon I carted 3 lodesof leavs out of the woods & put in the cow yard.
21. On Tues I made some notions for Amy & carted my wheet to uncle Joels barn 20 doz.
22. On Wed I finishd makeing a pare of shoes for my self & cut out a pare for Charles.
23. On Thurs I thrashd wheet at uncles barn in AM & got in my oats stack in to the barn in PM.
24. On Fri I thrashd wheet at uncles barn.
25. On Sat I thrashd wheet & cild a wolling ? peace. Amy went to the burying of Thommas Wests wife.
26. On Sun I went to meeting Mr Sms text was in Isai LIV & 17.
27. On Mon I thrashd wheet & finishd winnering some.
28. On Tues I finishd winnering & riddled it once over.
29. On Wed I finishd cleaning & measured 17 bus out of 20 doz then went to the widdow Randolphs vendue & bought one puter plater (peuter platter) for 70 cents then went to singing school at rhodestown.
30. On Thurs I took 2 hund of wheet flower to John Dare & got 50 ceder rails. he is to give me 6 do l & one hundred rails. then in PM I brought my wheet from uncles barn & went to meeting at the school house. Mr Sms preachd from Phil II & 16.
31. On Fri I thrashd & cleand up 8 3/4 of oats & daddy took his wheet home. it bought his coult coming one year. he gave 16 dollars. I had 81 bus of wheet in the crop.
February, 1806
February 1. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Mr Sms text was in Malsky (? Malachi) IV & 2. after sermon we did some church bisness.
2. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Prov XVII & 17. after sermon we surrounded the Lords table.
3. On Mon I made a shaving hors.
4. On Tues I dresd flax.
5. On Wed I dresd flax & went to singing school at Bowentown at even.
6. On Thurs Idresd flax & went to meeting at Mr Platts s at even. Mr Sms text was in st peter III & 13.
7. On Fri I dresd flax & then went & brought home a lode of ceder railes from John Dares & made up one hundred then carted a lode of fire wood.
8. On Sat I hoopd up a tub & put in a new bottom in the old half ---.
9. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in 2 nd Cor V & 10.
10. On Mon I thrashd & cleand up 10 1/2 of oats & pitchd lode of hay that Isold to uncle William Davis for 2 34 Dol.
11. On Tues I thrashd & cleand up 7 3/4 finishd. I had 53 bus in the crop. then thrashd the wheet heddins & cleand up 3/4.there was better than 81 bus of wheet in the crop.
12. On Wed I plowd in the stocks workd out some slats for a flax brake.
13. On Thurs I went to Lebenon neck and got some pine nots.
14. On Fri I dresd flax in AM & trimd the -ants out of the young orchard.
15. On Sat I pidled about in AM & went to rhodestown in PM.
16. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Brown preachd from Heb CII & 1. came home & dind then went to the court house. mr Brown preachd from St John III & 18.
17. On Mon I fell timber in AM for the barn. the sow had pigs this forenoon.
18. On Tues I went to Jonathan Platts s & got in a peace & wove a lot 2 yds.
19. On Wed I wove 1 1/2 yds & went and fell more timber.
20. On Thurs I cut & loded ----- on my lot & took to the saw mill & then went to father in laws to society meeting. Mr Lafady preachd from Rom V & 1.
21. On Fri I dresd flax.
22. On Sat I dresd flax. there was a shad cought in Charleys crick today.
23. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in the CXXX Psalms.
24. On Mon I dersd flax & finishd.
25. On Tues I dug stone in Am & made some fence round the garden in PM.
26. On Wed I carted ceder railes from the house & the crops fence p back of the wheet.
27. On Thurs I movd some fence on railes & went to the bridge in PM. I was onwell.
28. On Fri I went to Lemuel Reeeves s & got a new plow share to my plow & stopd at father in laws as I came home.
March, 1806
March 1. On Sat I went to lebonon neck & got some pine logs & brought to the saw mill & brought home the timber that was sawd.
2. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Mark XVI 15-16 & surrounded the table of the Lord after sermon.
3. On Mon I dug stone in AM & made fence in PM.
4. On Tues I pidled about AM & carted logs out of thee marsh for the barn cills.
5. On Wed I drew in a peace of J Plattses & wove 2 yds for our selves.
6. On Thurs I wove some & went to uncle Daniels vendue & bought a corner cubard & other articles.
7. On Fri I wove & made up 7 yds. I helpd daddy cill a calf in the morn.
8. On Sat I went & got a lode of old wood off the land that I hewd. daddy went with me.
9. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Stout from Devideing Creek preachd from the CXXXVI & 3 vers.
10. On Mon I wove 7 yds.
11. On Tues I wove one yd & went to town meeting. I receivd a letter from E B dated Febru the 2.
12. On Wed I wove 7 yds & got out the peace. it was 22 1/2 yds long. I wrote some in a letter to E B this even.
13. On Thurs I plowed in AM & split railes in PM.
14. On Fri I split some railes & stakes & carted them along the woods back of the wheet & made a fence in PM.
15. On Sat I made fence. I finishd a letter to E B this even.
16. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm was absent. Isaac Mulford red a sermon from Rom I & 16.
17. On Mon I went & helpd David Bateman move to father in laws brick house.
18. On Tues I dresd flax at uncle Joels to the shares.
19. On Wed I put a new bottom in the piggon & run & made a splint broom.
20. On Thurs I soald a pare of shoes for Elizabeth Hann & went to Lemuel Reeves Vendue.

27. On Thurs I stade ----- for fair weather.
28. On Fri we went & caut some oysters in back creek.
29. On Sat we went out into the river & caught some oysters & came to the mouth of back creek & stade till midnight.
30. On Sun I started about 1 oclock in the morn & came up into stoe creek & came to meeting. Mr Sms text was in Math XVI & 24. came home after meeting.
31. On Mon I went to studonses neck & got our oysters. Reuben went with the team. we had 20 bus after paying 4 for the boat hire.
April, 1806
April 1. On Tues I sold 12 apple trees to Mr Bishop & planted some potatoes in the garden & went to the vendue of S F & S S & bought a few notion.
2. On Wed I plowd in AM & went to the bridge in PM.
3. On Thurs I plow & had daddys team in PM.
4. On Fri I sowd my oats & flax ceed & harrowd it in.
5. On Sat I went to meeting. Mr Sms text was in zecheri II & 5. I was onwell.
6. On Sun I stade at home & wasonwell with a cold. frost and ice this morning.
7. On Mon I memded a pare of shoes for Andrew Hanns wife.
8. On Tues I carted railes along the crop fence & cilld my calf in AM.
9. On Wed I went to Bridgeton in AM & took some veal & scoard timber in PM. Mr dride it.
10. On Thurs I scoard timber.
11. On Fri I went to the saw mill & got some rafters. I began to warp a 60 yard peace.
12. On Sat I went to tindons island & trid to burn the marsh. I wove some on the peace. this has been a very cold spell. the groud has been frozen all day.
13. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Acts III & 22-23.
14. On Mon I warpd some on the peae & went to bridgeton along with S B H & N S A who came down on a visit.
15. On Tues I mowd m oats at David Platts & made some board fence & went to bridgetown & got Samuels trunk.
16. On Wed I went into the great swamp & cut holly logs for Samuel.
17. On Thurs I workd at the hollys again & helpd cart out some.
18. On Fri I went with David Platts to carting out the holly logs & finishd. came home & warpd some on the peace.
19. On Sat I helpd D P cill a calf & then went to Marks avisiting at the bever dams. came home at night.
20. On Sun I went to meeting. Samuel B H brother preachd from st John XVIII & 36. after sermon more than fifty youths repeated the catechism. at even I went to the court house to meeting. Brother Samuel preachd from Romans I & 16.
21. On Mon I started with D Walling to philladelphia & took up Samuel who was returning to burdentown. we started about seven got to uncle Daniels in the city by sundown & stade all night.
22. On Tues I went about the citty & got some notions & then we got off from the ferry at 1 oclock & stopd at the teal bridge & saw John Shaw & then 1/2 an hour at woodbury & got home at 12 oclodk.
23. On Wed I made fence & finishd warping the peace & went to daddys.
24. On Thurs I went & carted holly logs to bridgetown. daddy & David Platts helpd me. we finishd.
25. On Fri I beamd on the peace & drew it in.
26. On Sat I wove one yard & went to bridgetown.

4. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Rom VIII & 18. after we came home & dind we went to meeting at the meeting house whare Mr Freeman preachd from Revla XX 5 & 4.
5. On Mon I went to T Lukes & sharpend my plow irons my self then wove 3 yds & began to mark out for corn ground.
6. On Tues I markd out corn ground in J P s field.
7. On Wed I finishd marking out & began to furrow up at home & planted in the after noon.
8. On Thurs I furrowd out at home whare I plowd up early. Charles finishd planting Jonathans field.
9. On Fri I made Charles a pare of shoes.
10. On Sat I went to bridgetown in the morning & then came & went to early meeting. S Johes D D preachd the first sermon from Math XXIV & 1. then came home & took my coult to David Platts s wild marsh. I receivd letter from Samuel. white frost this morning.
11. On Sun I went to yearly meeting. Mr Runyon preachd from st John I & 3. after noon Mr Vanhorn preachd from Rom V & 10. then Mr Runyon administard the sacrement. there was a great number of people.
12. On Mon I went to meeting. Runyon preachd from Col III from 1 to 5. Mr Vanhorn preachd the last sermon from Acts XX & 32. then went to the meeting house whare Mr Torret from Europe preachd from Isai LV & 2. yearly meeting ended.
13. On Tues I wove 3 yards & washd the sheep in the after noon then began to mark out for corn at home.
14. On Wed I markd out for corn & planted some.
15. On Thurs I markd out & durted corn in the hill & planted some. J Philips helpd me.
16. On Fri I finishd marking out & plowd the truck pach. Charles planted & went in the after noon to the vendue of some stray creatures. white frost this morning.
17. On Sat I went to the saw mill & brought home some pine boards then planted my truck pach & sheard my sheep. the 5 had 13 lb of wool.

June, 1806
June 1. On Sun I stade at home. I was onwell with a cold & wrote some in a letter to E B.
2. On Mon I replanted corn in J P field.
3. On Tues I replanted corn in J P & got done.
4. On Wed I replanted corn at home in the fore noon & went to court in the after noon. the bees swarmd today.
5. On Thurs I plowd bocks. I finishd.
6. On Fri I finishd replanting corn & mowd clover in the after noon. J Phleps helpd me.
7. On Sat I went to the bridge in the morn & then spred the hay & replanted the truck pach.
8. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in the CXIX Psalm & 72 vers.
9. On Mon I mowd some clover in the morn & then spred & raik hay.
10. On Tues I mowd clover. R Seppard & G Platts helpd me. I put up some.
11. On Wed I rakd & stackd some clover hay. Reuben S helpd me inthe after noon. Mark Bowen came & got half a lode of hay.
12. On Thurs I mowd some & helpd Mark lode another half lode of hay & then went to Roadstown to the revew training.
13. On Fri I wove a little then took 3 cocks of hay to Moses Veal & got 8 hundreds of 3 feet shingles at 18 D pr thous & then put a pare of bars above the corn.
14. On Sat I cilld a wether in the morn it weid 12 & 14 a quarter. there was 7 pounds of mutt tallow on the introls & then took one quarter to the bridge & parted with the other about home. then rackd hay in the after noon.
15. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr SM text was in Hebrews IV & 16 & after I came home the bees swarmd & settld in two places & I put them in two hives.
16. On Mon I mowd the last of my clover & hode some corn. the sun was eclipsd at 11 oclock all most total.
17. On Tues I mowd some along the medow & howd some corn & rakd some clover & went to father in laws to hear from R B.

30. On Wed I finishd treding out the oats & went to mill & then went to Sam Davises to inform them of the burying. there was a shower & raind hard. this is the first hard shower we have had for 3 months. this is Tuesday & what is wrote a Tuesday I did a Wednesday.

August the 1. On Fri I mowd some of the clover & cleand up some oats.
2. On Sat I finishd cleaning up oas there was 31 bus 20 to my share. then went to monthly meeting. Joseph Sheppard preachd from the XIX psalm - verce & then attended to bisiness then came home.
3. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in 2nd Peter II & 10. after sermon we surrounded the table of the Lord. there was four women taken in to meeting.
4. On Mon I went to Levi Halls helpd cill a veal & then went & cut a log & took to nobles mill for lath.
5. On Tues I went to the bridge & then wove some & harrowd some corn.
6. On Wed I went to Marks & got a lode of pine boards.
7. On Thurs I went to the island & rakd & fechd home a turn.
8. On Fri I wove some & workd at the barn Mr Long helpd in PM.
9. On Sat I workd at the barn & we lade the rafters on the old part.

19. On Fri I went to Marks & to the saw mill & got some boards & slabs. daddy went.
20. On Sat I cleand up some rye & wen to mill 2 1/4 bus & pickd up a lode of apples.
21. On Sun I went to meeting.Mr Sm text was 2nd thesl II & 10.
22. On Mon I made 4 1/2 barels of cider & took one to Marret.
23. On Tues I went to the marsh & rakd hay. daddy helpd & took a lode home.
24. On Wed I went to the marsh & finishd & fechd home a lode.
25. On Thurs I carted 2 lodes of hay.
26. On Fri Igot out the 60 yard peace.
27. On Sat I went a squerrel hunting in the morn & found none then workd at wether boarding the barn & pickd up some apples.
28. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Col I & 23. came home & dind then went to methodist prayer meeting.
29. On Mon I went & brought home the last turn of hay from the marsh.

October 1. On Wed I finishd a letter to Samuel & took to daddys I pickd up� apples & made cider 6 barrels.
2. On Thurs I mowd a little in the meddow & thrashd some wheet.
3. On Fri I mowd a little in the meddow & thrashe some wheet. last evening I went to Moses Platts s to society meeting. Mr Sm preachd from Mark the XIV & 3.
4. On Sat I went to monthly meeting. Mr Sm text was in Acts VIII & 8. after sermon there was 4 examond & 3 receivd which was baptisd at bridgtown whare I went after I came home & dind.
5. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Isai LIII. after sermon there was 5 taken into meeting. then we surrounded the table of our blesed Lord.
6. On Mon I thrashd wheet. J S helpd me.
7. On Tues I cleand up some wheet. there was 10 1/2 bus in all. then sowd my wheet. Charles harrowd.
8. On Wed I cradold buckwheet in the morn then mowd inthe meddow & topt some corn.
9. On Thurs I finishd cuting my buckwheet & topt corn. J B helpd me. we bound some & went to daddys to society meeting.
10. On Fri I rakd the buckwheet & bound & got my corn fodder.
11. On Sat I went to bridgetown in the morn then carted my buckwheet & thrashd some of it. J Phelps helpd me.
12. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Parkesons text was in Heb VII & 25. came home & dind then went to the court house whare Mr Sm preachd from st John I & 8-9.
13. On Mon I went to meeting at Rodestown. Mr Parker preachd from Philepians III & 3. then came home & thrashd some buckwheet.
14. On Tues I finishd thrashing buckwheet & winerd it. Amy had a quilting.
15. On Wed I finishd cleaning buckwheet had 26 bus. gave one third to J P for the ground then began & beat flax.
16. On Thurs I finishd beating flax & began to mow clover. J P helpd in PM. went to society at father in laws.
17. On Fri I carted out my flax & mowd. J P helpd till noon. I rackd some.
18. On Sat I spred flax & rackd the hay. J Tomkins held me.
19. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Gen XIVII. the youth was cateciss.
20. On Mon I pickd up apples & took a lode to the press & ground them.
21. On Tues I made 5 barrels of winter cider.
22. On Wed I workd a little at the barn & spred some flax & made a goos pen & put them up to fat.
23. On Thurs I finishd spreding flax & getherd corn. J P helpd me in his field. I went to meeting at night at James Sheppards. J S preachd from 1 Cor IV.
24. On Friday I carted in a lode of corn & thrashd some rye.
25. On Sat I getherd in the winter apples & carted in a lode of corn out of the field.
26. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in Hebr VIII 6 & 7. came & dind & went to J Smalleys to oprayer meeting.
27. On Mon I finishd husking corn & carted in out of the field. J P field. I had about 70 bus of ears.
28. On Tues I went to mill & then winerd flax cede. I was onwell.
29. On Wed I huskd & carted in a lode of corn.
30. On Thurs I mended one of my shoes & had the ague at night.
31. On Fri I mended a shoe & cleand my flax. cold. I had 6 1/2 bus.
November, 1806
November th 1. On Sat I cut stocks & went to monthly meeting. Mr Sm text was in Reve VII & 10. after I came home I carted 2 lodes of wood.
2. On Sun I was sick with the 3 day fever & ague.
3. On Mon I cut stocks & carted some.
4. On Tues I finishd my stocks & dug some patatoes then went to marsh meeting & was chosen maniger of the bank.
5. On Wed I cilld my gees & put anewtung in the waggon & thrashd some oats & cleand the fowls in the everning.
6. On Thurs I started to Philadelphia with father & crossd the river about sunset & went to uncle Daniels & tade all night. there I saw brother Samuel at home. I have not seen him for a long time.
7. On Fri I went in to market & sold my poultry by noon & then got my things & went to uncles & stade all night. Samuel blooded me for I was not well.
8. On Sat I crossd over the river & came home. we got here about 6 oclock.
9. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Stout preachd from 8 psalm & 4 verce.
10. On Mon I huskd corn & had the ague.
11. On Tues I huskd & carted in some corn. J Phelps helpd me.
12. On Wed I carted in corn & huskd some.
13. On Thurs I had the fever. Jeremi Perry rimd the fore wheel to the coverd waggon. I hode some corn.
14. On Fri I huskd & carted in some corn.
15. On Sat I was sick.
16. On Sun I was onwell & stade at home. it snowd some.
17. On Mon I finishd getting in my corn.
18. On Tues I carted my tops & took the waggon wheel to Lukes to get the tire put on & went to father in laws & stade the evening.
19. On Wed I had my pigs cut & ----- & put some boards on the barn ruff finishd diging tatoes & buryed them. 20. On Thurs I went & workd on the watlin dam.
21. On Fri I workd on the dam. J P & Charles helpd.
22. On Sat I cut & carted a lode of wood & took Hannah Perry home & went to mill.
23. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in st John L & 16. I had the ague & fever.
24. On Mon I workd on the dam. J P & J H workd with me.
25. On Tues I cut & carted some poles off of my lot & began a hog poen.
26. On Wed I finishd the hog pen.
27. On Thurs I made a bar post & went to bridgetown.
28. On Fri I went to the bridge & took a barrel of cider P Sowders & then went to the marsh & measurd of the bank then sat up stakes whare they was missing. the tide was very high & the banks very much broke.
29. On Sat I went to daddys & then helpd J Platts make cider & went to the widdow Brooks s vendue & bought a pare of diching boots for 50 cents.
30. On Sun I had the ague & stade at home.
December th 1. On Mon I fixd for David Bateman to thrash wheet & hold a bar poast & went to rodestown to training the officers only that traind.
2. On Tues I went to the marsh & stopt a break in my bank. J P helpd me.
3. On Wed I cleand up 12 1/4 bus of wheet. D B helpd.
4. On Thurs I went to the marsh but the water was all over it so that I was obliged to return then I thrashd my ---.
5. On Fri I ---- a peace & went to Devideing Creeks in PM & stade at Salvenus Tubmans.
6. On Sat I came home.
7. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Alleson preachd from Rev. XXI & 6. then came home & dind & went to the court house. Mr. Alleson preachd from Peter _____. them Homes Parvin preachd from Eccles XII & 13.
8. On Mon I made a bar post & put up a pare of bars & wnt to mill & to bridgetown.
9. On Tues I cut & carted 2 lodes of wood.
10. On Wed I cleand up 13 3/4 bus of wheet that D B thrashd.
11. On Thurs I go in a flannel peace. it snowed about 2 inches.
12. On Fri I wove.
13. On Sat I went to them mill & rep some wheet & sold John Moor 5 1/2 bus for 1-33 pr bus then I went to daddys.
14. On Sun I stade at home.
15. On Mon I helpd Moses Veal & then went to mill.
16. On Tues I went to the mill & sold Mark Bowen a hundred of wheet flower for four dollars then cleand out the stable.
17. On Wed and Thurs I wove.
19. On Fri I wove some & got out the peace. it was 15 1/2 yards long. hoopd the water pale & winerd some wheet.
20. On Sat I helpd clean up 19 bus of wheet & took up my flax & went to bridgetown & pade 3-12 tax.
21. On Sun I went to meeting. Mr Sm text was in 2nd Thesc & 12.
22. On Mon I cut & carted 3 lodes of wood & cilld the sow.
23. On Tues I went & lookd at E F wood but did not take any & cut & then made a fence across the run.
24. On Wed I helpd uncleJoel cill a beef the cilld my calf & went to the bridge with them.
25. On Thurs CHRISTMAS I put up the bricks from the weather & cleand out the stock pen & made a plac for the coults & went to father in laws to society meeting.
26. On Fri I went & began to cut wood with David Bateman for Delany Sharp at 50 cents per cord.
27. On Sat I cut wood for D S. D B fetchd home a lode of hay & coult & is to board with us that winter at 1 dollar 50 cents a week.
28. On Sun I stade at home.
