SMITH, son of Christopher SMITH and Sarah WALLACE. Born Oct 31, 1829 in Point Pleasant, Clermont Co., OH. He died 2 May 1900 in Grant or Garfield Co., OK. Buried in Grant Co., OK. He married Rebecca WILSON who was born in Moscow or Cincinnati, (daughter of Matthew James WILSON and Anne MANNING), in Clermont Co., OH 17 April 1851. She died 11 Dec. 1913 in Enid, Garfield Co., OK Family history says that the Wallace's were from across the river in Kentucky and that Sarah died when John was about 6 months old, which would be about April or May 1830. (I haven't found the record yet.) Also that Christopher had a Grist Mill on the Ohio River at Point Pleasant, but haven't found any proof of that except family stories. John is my 2nd great grandfather. |
