Lavister Infant School Report 1883

The following Children received certificate cards: -

Commended and received a book.. 


Alma BOUGH, Arthur STANLEY, George BOUGH.


The certificate cards and prizes were distributed to the children by Miss BOYDELL, Alyn Cottage.


After the distribution, a Handsome Writing Desk, with a beautifully executed illuminated address (the work of Russell VENABLES, one of the Pupil Teachers) was presented by the Vicar on behalf of the Teachers and Scholars, to Miss Elizabeth PORTER, who has just completed her Apprenticeship as Pupil Teacher.


Miss M.A. SHAW, formerly a Pupil Teacher in the School, and since, Assistant Mistress of Urswick School, near Ulverston, has gained a Certificate (2nd division) in the late Examination of acting Teachers.
 

The report of H.M . Inspector, T. Morgan Owen, Esq., received April 1st 1883.

This is a decidedly good Infant School.  The little ones answered eagerly and well.”
