St. Johns Cemetery
Hornby, Steuben Co., NY
From the Hornby-Beaver Dams Road turn south on the Monterey Road or the
Forks Road (may be marked either way). Go .35 miles and on the right (west)
side is a seasonal use road (Duran Road). This is right on the border of
Schuyler & Steuben. Walk out that road until you start down hill. Take
the first old logging road on the left (south) and walk out it for 120 paces.
The cemetery is right at the end of the logging road where it turns. All
stones checked Oct 1998 by W.E. Fenton and R. M. Page. We did not see the
stones for Sarah Gardner & William Patchen.
That data came from an unsigned list in a book of Hornby Cemeteries at Steele
Memorial Library in Elmira, NY.

Sarah Gardner No data
Wife of Hiram
(The stone reads "In memory of Sarah wife of Hiram G. who died in the 26th year of his age" - the stone cutter may have intended the "his" to be "hers")
Also there is a Hiram buried in the Rhoda Cemetery in the town of Hornby.
