COMPANY I, 185 Regiment, N.Y.V.

COMPANY I, 185 Regiment, N.Y.V.

Submitted by Kathy Crowell, September 18, 1998

The following article appeared in the April 19, 1888  Veteran's Column of Fayetteville's "Weekly Recorder" newspaper.  Serious coverage of Civil War veteran news in this paper began in 1888 under publisher Maj. Andrew Wilkin, formerly of Co. H, 122nd Regt., and continued into 1892 by Howard Beauchamp.

The following list comprises the names of the members of Company I, which was recruited in part in Syracuse and in part in south-eastern Onondaga, in August and September, 1864.  The post office addresses are given so far as known.  Some of these doubtless are erroneous, and members of the company and others will confer a great favor if they will look the list over carefully and note corrections and additions and the locations of any whose addresses are not given and send them to Maj. H. W. Clarke, Secretary 185 Vet. Association, Syracuse, N.Y.
