'Growing Up in Manlius Village in the '30s and '40s'

by Sue Goodfellow

The 4th of July gives our village an opportunity to come together to celebrate a very important day in our country. The Manlius Historical Society would like to do its part this year by offering a new publication entitled GROWING UP IN MANLIUS VILLAGE IN THE '30s and '40s by Sue Goodfellow. We consider this book to be a very important contribution to the history of Manlius Village, and it will be available at our booth near the Fire Station on the 4th of July or by mail.

Some excerpts:
Riding along in the rumble seat, reading the Burma Shave Signs The ladies getting a permanent wave at the beauty parlor, with the octopus frying their hair.

This book has already generated praise from numerous people who have read it. The author, Sue Goodfellow, has been a life-long resident of Manlius and currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the Society. She is donating the book to the Society as a fund raiser.
