NOTE:  Andrew Share is supposed to have given the land for this cemetery.  In 1934 a
monument was erected by residents of the locality marking it as "Sentinel Heights Pioneer
Cemetery 1816-1934."  This is something of a misnomer as the land was not purchased from the
Indians until 1817 and the name Sentinel Heights did not become a part of common usage until
the 1920's.  According to the notes of Flora Morton, Jeremiah, Isaac and Joseph Share are
buried here but no evidence could be found in 1934.

NOTE:  in 1934 and 1935 considerable effort was made by Miss Flora Morton to copy the stones
and substantiate the records of this cemetery.  On October 13,1935 some of her notes were
copied by Mrs. Grace Morton, the notations of which were used when checking the cemetery in
1978. The condition of this cemetery is very poor since the Town of Onondaga, unlike the Town
of LaFayette, does not fulfill its obligations toward minimal care of abandoned burial
grounds.
