Genesee
Area Genealogists is an organization of people from
Genesee, Wyoming, and Ontario counties plus others from around
the country which meets on the third Tuesdays ten months a year
(February through November) at 7 pm in the Richmond Memorial Library
at 19 Ross St., Batavia, NY. We welcome anyone who is interested
in genealogy or family history. Our fiscal year runs from July
1 to June 30 of the succeeding year. We are a very expensive organization
to join since our dues are $10.00 per year and that includes a
bi-monthly newsletter!!!
If you are interested in joining Genesee Area Genealogists, you
can send your $10.00 by snail mail to GAG c/o Richmond Memorial
Library, 19 Ross St., Batavia NY 14020. |
The
Western New York Genealogical
Society was founded in 1974 to help preserve and encourage
interest in the area's rich genealogical heritage. Its focus is
the eight Western New York counties which originally were part
of the Holland Land Company Purchase - Allegany, Cattaraugus,
Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming.
Membership benefits include seven meetings each year with speakers,
workshops and field trips; a subscription to the quarterly Journal,
issued June, September, December and March; and free queries (50
words per issue) in the Journal.
