|
Uphill, William H., was born in Somerset, England, and came to the United States April 10, 1850, with his parents, Thomas and Ann Uphill, settling in Erie county. He came to Genesee county in 1868. William H. Uphill was educated in the common schools. In 1880 he married Alice, daughter of Orlando Spencer; they have three children: James G., Sarah and Louise. Mr. Uphill is a prominent farmer and interested in public affairs. In 1890 he was elected highway commissioner and has served seven years.
