JOHN PASSMORE - OF STAFFORD, NY

John Passmore, a native of Devonshire, Eng., was born December 14, 1824. His parents were Richard and Susanna Passmore. His father came here in 1832, and purchased a farm in the eastern part of the town. He died in 1875, and his wife in 1865. John Passmore married Elizabeth, daughter of George and Sarah Shapland, who was born in 1829. They had 13 children, of whom 10 are living, namely: Susan, Mary Elizabeth, Thomas, Richard, Charles, Sarah Ann, John, Eliza Jane, Henrietta, and James. In 1850 he bought the Warren farm, upon which he now lives, and the Chapell property in 1858. He is a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge, No. 222.
