J. QUINCY D. PAGE - OF PAVILION, NY

Page, J. Quincy D., P.O. Pavilion, NY, one of the prominent and most successful business men of Pavilion, was born in the town of Pavilion, April 10, 1859, a son of John R. and Mary (Doty) Page. He was reared in his grandfather's family and educated in the public schools of his native town. At the age of twenty he engaged in the cooperage business on his own account, which he successfully conducted until 1897. He was the originator and builder, and is now the owner and proprietor of the village water works. He is now proprietor of the Page Hotel at Pavilion and has conducted the same since 1891. On March 22, 1887, Mr. Page married May Walker; they have one daughter, Olive A. Mr. Page is a prominent member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and A.O.U.W. Personally, he is of a very social nature and enjoys the friendship of a large circle of acquaintances.

J. Quincy D. Page was born April 10, 1859, one mile north of Pavilion. He was reared in the family of his grandfather (Doty), and received a common and Normal school education. At the age of 20 he began the coopering business, which he has since followed, making from 20,000 to 30,000 barrels. Per year. He married, March 22, 1887, May, daughter of Shubael Walker, and they have one child, Olive A. The father of Mr. Page was John R., of Bethany, who married Mary Doty, of Middlebury. J. Quincy D. was their only child. He was well educated and taught school until 50 years of age. His wife died in 1863, and he married, second, Mary Kellogg, by whom he had one son, Frank. After the war he moved to Douglass County, Ill., where he accumulated a good property. The grandfather of J. Q. D. Page was John Page, who was one of the earliest settlers in Bethany. He reared five sons and two daughters.
