JOHN NIGHTINGALE - OF BYRON NY

Nightingale, John, was born in Yorkshire, England, March 10, 1830, and came to the United States in 1832, with his parents, David and Sarah Nightingale, settling in Rome, N. Y. He married Caroline E. daughter of Benjamin E. Wheat; they have three sons: George H., Frank A and Charles R. Mr. Nightingale is a successful farmer; has served as assessor and highway commissioner, takes an intelligent interest in town matters and is recognized as a man of sterling integrity. George Nightingale married Hattie L., daughter of S. S. Brown, and they have one daughter, Anna L. Mr. Nightingale is one of the old residents of the town of Byron.
