WILLIAM MARTIN

William Martin, son of William, a native of Orange County, N. Y., came to Shelby, N. Y., in 1816, and now resides there. He married Sarah, daughter of Daniel Ross, of Shelby, and their children are William A., Wallace, Mary, Harriet, Alice, Frances, Albert R., Elizabeth, and Charles T. Charles T. Martin was born in Barre, N. Y., March 3, 1843, and now resides in Batavia on road 7. William Martin, Sr., was a native of County Down, Ireland. He came to New York City in 1801, and thence to Barre, where he died in 1848, aged 82 years. He was a linen weaver by trade. His wife was Mary Trumbull, who died in Barre in 1844, aged 72 years. Charles T. Martin married Augusta S., daughter of Robert Balmer, of Porter, Niagara County, N. Y., and they had one daughter, Maude Snow, now deceased.
