BIOGRAPHY

ALMOND C. MARSH - OF BETHANY AND LE ROY, NY

Marsh, Almond C., was born in Dorset, Vt., February 29, 1824, and came to Genesee County in 1842, settling in the town of Bethany, where he lived for about twenty-eight years. Thence he removed to Le Roy, where he bought and sold stock in connection with farming, remaining there about twelve years. Since then he has resided in Batavia with the exception of one year spent in the West. In 1849 he was married to Rebecca, daughter of Asel Dow; they have one daughter, Mrs. L. N. Smith of Watseka, Ill. Mr. Marsh is one of the practical and successful farmers of his town. He served three years as assessor, and in various ways has given practical evidence of his interest in his town's welfare; he bears an unblemished character and is popular in his community. Mrs. Marsh died December 11, 1897.
