BIOGRAPHY DANIEL IDE JR. - OF BERGEN, NY |

Daniel Ide, Jr., the first son of Daniel Ide, was born at Sand Lake, Rensselaer County, N. Y., October 9, 1829, and during his entire life has been a farmer. He resided at Sweden, Monroe County, from i866 to 1875, when he moved to Irondequoit, same county, where he still resides. He married Geraldine Horton, February 9, 1849, and has five children. Darwin A. Ide, the third child, was born in Milton, Saratoga County, March 4, 1853, and began the occupation of saddlery and harness making at the age of 20. In December, 1877, he came to Bergen and began business for himself in the Parrish block. By the fire of 1880 he lost most of his stock, but soon opened up at another place. He is now on Lake Street, north of the N. Y. C. & H. R. Railroad tracks, where a full line of horse furnishing goods are kept. He also manufactures harnesses. He was married, December 22, 1880, to Anna A., daughter of William and Jane Sands, of Sweden, N. Y., and they have one child, George I., born March 28. 1882.
