Griffin, Samuel B., was born in Erie County, N. Y., December 17, 1829, a son of Henry Griffin, a native of Onondaga County, who came to Genesee County in 1840 and died in 1844. Mr. Griffin was educated in the common schools and has always been a farmer. In 1850 he married the widow of George Macomber; their children are Francis A., Archibald, Adelle, John A., Charles H., Sarah A. and Nancy G. Mr. Griffin is a citizen of good standing and has always been found with those whose efforts were devoted to the public good. Source:
