Ebling, Charles M., was born in Buffalo, August 26, 1860, a son of John Ebling, who was a native of Germany and came to the United States in 1845, settling in Buffalo, where he conducted a cooperage and hotel business; he died in 1893. Charles M. was educated in Buffalo, and engaged in the grocery and meat business. He established his present business in Batavia in 1882. In 1883 he was married to Mary, daughter of George Stakel; they have two sons: Carl and Herman. Mr. Ebling served as a village trustee from 1885 to 1887; his record as an honorable business man and valuable citizen is of the highest. Source:
