BIOGRAPHY

ISAAC VAUGHN DIBBLE - OF BATAVIA, NY

Isaac V. Dibble was born in Schoharie County, July 1, 1845. He married Mary Conway, of Lima, N. Y., and they had 10 children, seven of whom are living. In 1867 he moved to Avon and entered the employ of M. & G. Wiard, remaining with them until they came to Batavia, when the firm name was changed to Wiard Plow Co. He was foreman for the company until June 1, 1889, since which time he has been a contractor, and now employs eight to 12 men.

ISAAC VAUGHN DIBBLE - OF BATAVIA, NY

Dibble, Isaac Vaughn, was born in Breakabeen, Schoharie County, July 1, 1845, a son of Ichabod Dibble, who married Candice Dennison, and through life was a cabinet and wagon maker, also a farmer; he died in 1888. Isaac V. Dibble was educated in the common schools and in 1866 married Mary, daughter of Dennis Conway; they had ten children, seven of whom are now living: Eugene H., Wesley G., Mrs. Robert Turner, Mrs. Thomas Carlin, J. Edith, William J., Sarah A., Candice J., Genevieve M. and Carl Isaac. Mrs. Dibble died September 14, 1897. She had a host of friends who deeply mourned her death. Mr. Dibble is one of the self-made men of Genesee County and for thirty-two years has been connected with the Wiard Plow Company. His standing in the community is based upon a life of integrity, sobriety and energy.
