BIOGRAPHY

JOHN C. CURTIS - OF ALEXANDER, NY

John C. Curtis, a native of Massachusetts, and a son of Edmond who was killed in Canada in the War of 1812, came to Warsaw in 1820, and died in 1878, at the age of 8i years. He also served in the War of 1812, and was in Buffalo when that City was burned. He married Lucy, daughter of Asahel Croft, of Orangeville, N. Y., and their children were Sylvester, Adaline, Edmond, Alfred, Mary Ann, Clarisse, John Harrison, and Marcus L. The latter was born in Warsaw, and came to Alexander in 1886, where he now resides. He married Mary J., daughter of Hiram W. and Rachel (Swan) Davis, of Middlebury, N. Y., and their children are Anson D, Elon J., Noble S., Elzie F., and Arthur E. Mrs. Mary Jane Curtis has one son, Holsa, by her first husband, John B. Smith.
