Joseph Crawford was born October 10, 1833, in Rochester, N. Y., received a practical education, and in early life was a farmer. He moved with his parents to Attica, Wyoming County, in 1841. In 1854 they moved to the town of Bethany, and located on road 17 corner 19 April 10, 1861, he married Julia, oldest daughter of Col. Daniel and Eleanora Brown, of Bethany. She was born February 7, 1840. Mr. Crawford learned the milling business about 1873, and is now proprietor of the grist-mill and grocery store at West Bethany. He was appointed postmaster, during President Grant's second term, in 1876, which office he still holds. FROM:
