Francis J. Bauer, born in Wurtemberg, Germany, October 8, 1837, emigrated to America in 1853, and in 1865 married Elizabeth Bauer. They had four children: Edward C., Frank J., Helen M. (Mrs. Milö Langworthy), of Pembroke, and Ida H. In 1876 they settled on a farm at Darien Center, where they now reside.
