Middlesex County was formed in 1683 from the Province of East Jersey. Somerset County split from Middlesex County in 1688. Part of Mercer County was formed from part of Middlesex County in 1838.
The New Jersey USGenWeb Project (also known as "NJGenWeb") is an internet-based project, created and maintained by volunteers, and dedicated to offering free New Jersey genealogical and historical information and resources to the general public.
At this site you will find information to assist you in your genealogical research. All comments, questions, suggestions and criticisms are welcome. Volunteers are also needed as resource persons to do lookups in books and/or materials that they may own or have access to about Middlesex County. REMEMBER, just 5 minutes of your time can save another genealogist days, weeks or even months of research time.
