On December 28, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the National Institute on Genealogical Research (NIGR) announced that the institute�s name was changed to the Genealogical Institute on Federal Records (Gen-Fed).

The National Institute on Genealogical Research Alumni Association (NIGRAA) will retain its name but its website is now part of the Gen-Fed site. Members can update their contact information and pay dues online at:
