PLEASANT VALLEY CEMETERY
This cemetery is located in the south central area of Grant Township in the southwest part of Custer County. The Pleasant Valley Church and the Pleasant Valley School stood just north of this cemetery.

This William M. Ashley, with Hiram Roten of nearby area, were the two men shot and killed by Albert E. Haunseine in 1889, who hung at courthouse in Broken Bow, Nebraska for his crime. Hiram Roten was originally buried here, but a some time later disinterred and reburied in cemetery at city of Gothenburg, Nebraska.
