ELK CREEK CEMETERY
This is a public cemetery and is accessible from the road. From Ansley, Custer County, Nebraska travel on Hwy 183, south, for 11 miles. At the gravel road (there is a sign here announcing the turn off to Cumro) turn and go 3/4 of a mile east. This cemetery is fenced in and has a large archway over the gate leading inside. The name Elk Creek Cemetery is written across the top of the arch. There is a marble sign in the southeast corner of the cemetery that reads;

Samp was born 12 January 1886 in Grant Township, Norton County, Kansas to
William & Augusta Voss Roeder and died on 12 May 1935. She married Luther Louis
M. "Lute" Samp on 23 March 1905 in
Norton County, Kansas. Her sister,
Elsie Roeder married George Samp, who was Lute's brother. They are buried in
the Broken Bow cemetery.(Information
