HENRY F. SHEARER 1867-1949 Henry F. Shearer, a resident of Harrisonville for several years, was born in Hazel Hill, Mo., Sept. 5, 1867, and died at General Hosp., KC, Mo. Sat. evening, Nov. 12, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 7 days. He was united in marriage with Miss Ida Luvina Page of Creighton some sixty years ago in Harrisonville. They spent most of their married life in Creighton and the surrounding communities. To this union were born eight children, five daughters preceded him in death. In 1942, the Shearers' moved to Harrisonville, where Mrs. Shearer died in July, 1943. After her death, Mr. Shearer continued to make his home in Harrisonville. He was a stone mason by trade and continued in this work, in spite of his advanced age. He is survived by three sons, Joe Shearer and Harry Shearer of Kansas City, Mo. and T. P. (Hap) Shearer of Harrisonville, six grandsons, two granddaughters and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted in the Creighton Christian Church by the Rev. Mrs. Walter Barth of Urich. Mrs. Jake Allison, Mrs. Everett Schultz, Walter Barth and Joe McCoy sang "Haven of Rest" and " Near the Cross" and Mr. and Mrs. Barth sang "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Wilbur Barth was the accounpanist. Casketbearers were A.S. VanEaton, Elza Deardorff, Marquis Brizendine and C.J. Gregg of Harrisonvile and J. A. Randol and E.J. Morlan of Creighton.
