Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 19, at Williams Funeral Chapel, Warrensburg, with the Rev. Bill Runyon officiating; burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg. Lois was born April 19, 1923, in Odessa, MO, to Walter Bryan and Jessie Blanche (Keenan)Alkire. She had lived in the Holden and Centerview communities for most of her life. She graduated from College High School, Warrensburg, MO, in 1941. She was a homemaker, farm wife, and a member of the Church of Hope, Centerview, and the Centerview Community Social Hour. She married Nolan Dyer on March 22, 1941, in Odessa; he survives of the home. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Denise Dyer; great-granddaughter, Melissa Jeanette Atkinson; sister, Mildred Faye Heller; and brother, Omar Bryan Alkire. She is also survived by three daughters, Brenda Dyer Atkinson and her husband, Jerry, Kingsville, MO, Anita Dyer Lamb and her husband, Lynn, Warrensburg, MO, and Wanda Dyer Antrim and her husband, Herbert, Lee's Summit, MO; four sons, Darrel Dyer and his wife, Jewel, Lee's Summit, MO, Douglas Dyer, Clinton, MO, and Delbert Dyer and David Dyer and his wife, Rita, all of Centerview, MO; 14 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreatgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-greatgranddaughter. Lois helped raise and was a great influence on the lives of Mark Duggar, Robert Hilke, Paul Dillon, Jim Potter, and Robert Arms. Luther W. Spence Obituary: WARRENSBURG - Luther W. Spence, 78, Warrensburg, died Dec. 17, 1991, in a hospital in Warrensburg. He was born in Holden, Mo., and was a lifelong Johnson County, Mo., resident. Mr. Spence was a truck driver before he retired. He was a member of the Construction Industry Laborers Union in Jefferson City. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Warrensburg. Survivors include his wife, Marie Spence of the home; a son, Don Spence, Kansas City; a daughter, Marilyn Schumacher, Lexington, Mo.; two sisters, Daisy Simpson, Lee's Summit, and Mildred Collins, Warrensburg; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Holdren Chapel, Warrensburg; burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. MUSSER Richard Henry Musser, 85, Holden, Mo., a lawyer and department store owner, died Dec. 11, 1991, at a hospital in Warrensburg,Mo. Mr. Musser was probate court judge and magistrate of Johnson County, Mo.,from the 1960s to 1971. Earlier he was Holden city attorney for 15 years. He was an assistant attorney for the Western District Court of Missouri in Kansas City from 1939 to 1947 and was Johnson County, Mo., prosecuting attorney in the 1930s. He owned Musser's Department Store in Holden and formerly owned Musser's department stores in Lathrop, Salisbury, Norborne, Pleasant Hill and Brunswick in Missouri. Mr. Musser received a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. He was a graduate of the Washington University law school in St. Louis and was a member of the Missouri Bar. He was a 60-year member of the Holden Masonic Lodge and a member of the Warrensburg Elks Lodge. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holden. He was born in Plattsburg, Mo., and moved to Holden in 1909. He lived in Kansas City for six years before returning to Holden in 1947. Survivors include two daughters, D. Dianne Ford, Kearney,and Mary Ann Gray, Holden; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ben Cast & Son-Wood Chapel, Holden; Masonic graveside services will be at the Holden Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Holden Ministerial Alliance. Zade B. Hanna Zade B. Hanna, 80, Warrensburg, died Nov. 12, 1991, at a hospital here. He was a lifelong Warrensburg resident. Mr. Hanna was a professional gambler for more than 50 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Rose Hanna of the home; two sons, Dr. Hugh A. Hanna, Warrensburg, and Larry Hanna, Cole Camp, Mo.; a daughter, Rita Mantell, Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Thelva Ingram, Garden Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Sweeney-Phillips Chapel, Warrensburg; burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Forrest B. Hill Forrest B. Hill, 92, died Nov. 21, 1991, in a nursing home here, where he lived. He was born in Elm, Mo., and lived in Centerview, Mo., before moving to Warrensburg three years ago. Mr. Hill was a farmer before he retired. He was a Methodist. Survivors include cousins. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ben Cast & Son-Wood Chapel, Holden, Mo.; burial in the Centerview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Centerview Cemetery Association. PANSY M. SPROAT Pansy M. Sproat, 91, Warrensburg, Mo., died Oct. 14, 1991, in the Pleasant Hill Health Care Center, Pleasant Hill in Cass County. She was a lifelong Warrensburg area resident. Mrs. Sproat was a member of the Pleasant Bethel Baptist Church, Warrensburg. Survivors include a son, Jim Sproat, Warrensburg; a daughter, Maxine Wilson, Independence; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Holdren Chapel, Warrensburg; burial in Adams Memorial Cemetery, near Warrensburg. The family suggests contributions to the church.
