DONALD R. "DON" RUSSELL

  Donald R. "Don" Russell, 64, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 
30, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs. Funeral services were held 
Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Burial was at 
Mayview Cemetery, Mayview, Missouri.
  Don was born November 12, 1936 in Benton, Louisiana, the son of John C. and 
Susie (Shockley) Russell. He married June Messerve on May 9, 1957. He was a Navy 
veteran of the Korean War. Don was employed as a computer operator at the 
Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City. He had owned and operated Able Shoe 
Repair in Oak Grove for a number of years. Don was a member of Broadway Baptist 
Church of Oak Grove; and had been a lifetime member of the Coon Hunters Club, 
Johnson County, Missouri.
  His survivors include his wife of 44 years, June Russell, of the home; two 
sons, Barry Russell, Oak Grove, and Terry Russell, Bevier, Missouri; one 
daughter, Cricket Russell, Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Joy Dell Russell, 
Marshall; and two grandchildren, Joshua Russell and Paul Russell.
