MRS. FAWNOLIA BELL SHEETS Mrs. Fawnolia Bell Sheets was born February 4, 1912 near Latour, Missouri the daughter of Leander Garfield and Irena Bell (Smith) Humphries. She passed away Sunday, August 19, 2001 at Lake Point of Rose Hill, Rose Hill, Kansas at the age of 89. On March 14, 1928 Fawnolia was united in marriage to Charles Elsworth Sheets. Fawnolia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Creighton Baptist Church, Creighton, MO. She had lived in Creighton from 1941 until moving to Wichita, KS in January 2000. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie on July 14, 1991 and a brother, Alfred. She is survived by a son, Charles Lee Sheets and wife Geneva, Kingsville, MO; a daughter, Wanda Irene Leslie and husband Jack, Wichita, KS; three grandsons, Chad Lee Sheets, John Wesley Leslie and Harold Keith Leslie; two granddaughters, Rena Sue Hardage and Misty Renee Loyd; nine great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 23, 2001 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, MO. Brother George V. Quillin officiated. Music included "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace." Mary Jo Spellerberg was soloist. Pallbearers were Kenneth Gregg, Robert Wayne Kagarice, Darrell Reid, Nathan Reid, Richard Reid, Roger Reid. Interment was at Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri. LOREN THOMAS "BUCK" COLE Loren Thomas "Buck" Cole, 69, Holden, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at his home in Holden. He was born December 18, 1931, in Sedalia, MO, the son of James S. and Wealthy Mabel (Christy) Cole. On September 6, 1957 he married Dixie Jo Snyder in Kansas City, KS. She survives at the home. Mr. Cole lived in Sedalia in his younger years, and had lived in Kansas City, MO for 20 years. He moved to Holden in 1977. He was a welder and owned Cole Iron Works in Holden. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, ROK Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He will be missed by family and friends. In addition to his wife Dixie, he leaves two stepsons, Michael Koeller, Omaha, NE and Steven Henry Koeller, Warrensburg; two sons, John Samuel Cole, Holden, and Loren Thomas Cole, II, Holden; two daughters, Sandra Stuart, Stover, MO, and Cynthia Ann Cole, Kansas City, KS; one brother, James E. Cole, Sedalia; three sisters, Lorene Huffman, Wichita, KS, Almyra Bozarth, Sedalia, and Rowena Phillips, Sedalia; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Allen Cole, and a grandson, Danny Leroy Stuart. Cremation under the direction of Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden.
