MARTHA MAY COCHRAN CARLYLE Martha May Cochran Carlyle, 55, Macon, Georgia, fomerly of Holden, Missouri, passed away at Macon Northside Hospital, Macon, Georgia. She was born September 1, 1945, in Strasburg, Missouri, the daughter of Frank Lee and Eunice Leona Larison Cochran. On November 30, 1963 she married Jimmie Carlyle at the First Baptist Church, Holden. Mrs. Carlyle was the co-owner and bookkeeper for Holden Auto Parts, and worked for Master Cosmetologist. She was a member of Ingelside Baptist Church, Macon, and of Beta Sigma PhiKappa Nu Chapter. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Ray Carlyle, Macon; two children, Mr. Richard Steven Carlyle and wife Julie, Dallas, TX; and Ms. Martha Jo Carlyle, Macon, Georgia; a half-brother, Milburn Cochran, Loveland, Colorado; a half sister, Marian Irene Wilson, Independence, Missouri, a twin sister, Sharon Kay Cochran Gann, Salt Lake City, Utah; one grandchild, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lee, Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2001 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Reverend Don Stephens, First Baptist Church, Lilbourn, Missouri, will officiate. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Holden, Saturday, January 27, 2001 at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Middle Georgia Unit. EARL ARTHUR TERRELL Earl Arther Terrell, 84, Holden, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at Holden Manor Care Center in Holden. He was born February 10, 1916 near Holden the son of James Earl and Dessie May Coultas Terrell. He was a 1934 graduate of Holden High School and he later graduated from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Missouri. On November 4, 1940 he married Susan Margaret Tevis. She preceded him in death May 12, 1996. Mr. Terrell worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for a couple of years in the early 1940s and then returned to Holden where he bacame a prominent dairy farmer. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holden, served several years on the Board of Directors of the Holden Cemetery Association, including one year as president of the association, and had been a member of the Mid America Dairyman's Association. He leaves one son, Jim Terrell, and one daughter, Sophie Bryant, both of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry in 1987. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. The Reverend Henry Gower officiated. Dana Dodson, organist accompanied Kathleen Bryant, soloist. Pallbearers were Jeff Bryant, Chris Terrell, Norman Briscoe, Russell Jennings, Dan Cast, and Milford Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Cast, Bob Corbin, Bill Golladay, and Gordon Kendrick. Interment was at Holden Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson Association. ANNA LINNEA JACOBSEN MOUNT Anna Linnea Jacobsen Mount, 98, Holden, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2001 at Holden Manor Care Center, Holden, Missouri. She was born June 22, 1902, in Viking, Minnesota, the daughter of Adam and Hulda Carlson Sahlberg. On July 7, 1922 she married Axel Jacobsen. He preceded her in death in 1960. She had lived in Viking until moving to Sun City Arizona in 1968. In 1968, she married Clarence Mount, and moved to Kansas City, Kansas. Clarence preceded her in death in 1981. Anna moved to Holden in 1992 to live with her daughter, Dorothy Doutt. Anna had many artistic talents and hobbies, including oil painting, crocheting, sculpting horses, cooking and homemaking, and shared these with her husband and children. She also strived to instill the traditions from her Swedish culture background in her own children and grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Gloria Alexander, Belen, New Mexico, Dorothy Doutt, Holden, and James Jacobsen, Bedford, TX; one brother, Harry Sahlbert; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Deacon Mark Kent officiated. Music was provided by Jimmy and Rose Jacobsen. Cremation. BENJAMIN " BENNY" E. ALLEN Benjamin "Benny" E. Allen, 67, of North Kansas City, MO., formerly of Holden, passed away January 14 at Woodbine Health Center in Gladstone, Mo. He had been suffering from a lengthy illness. He was a veteran who served in the air force. After that, he was employed by Stahl Specialty Company in Kingsville and Gustin Bacon in Kansas City, Ks. He was cremated. JUANITA G. BUTLER Juanita G. Butler, 84, Holden, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 22, 2001 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri. She was born August 2, 1916, in Argentine, Kansas, the daughter of John and Myrtle Waldren Worsham. She had lived Independence, Missouri, before moving to the Holden and Kingville areas in 1945. In 1998, she moved to Harrisonville, Missouri. Mrs. Butler worked as a dairy farmer most of her life. She had worked for Fred Harvey's Cafeteria's for two years and for Super X drug stores in Kansas City. She was an avid quilter, who loved to fish, sew, and paint. She was known to be a hard worked by her family and friends. Mrs. Butler was a member of the Holden Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by one son, Ted Butler, Independence; one daughter, Kathleen Sumner, Holden; one sister, Ruby Worsham, Eldorado Springs; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Lee in 2000, and a great granddaughter, Jessica Sechrest in 1989. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Friends may call Thursday, January 25, 2001 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Medford Cemetery. EMILY M. REDMON Emily M. Redmon, 86, of Kingsville, formerly of Holden and Kansas City, Mo passed away Saturday, January 13 at her home. Graveside services were held Monday, January 15 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Redmon was born October 2, 1914 in Frankfort, Ks., the daughter of George W. and Etta M. Hersh. She married George T. Redmon on April 27, 1936, and he preceded her is death in 1986. She is survived by a daughter, Vicki M. Price, of Kingsville; one sister, Helen Kraemer, of Kansas City, Ks.; four grandchildren, Pamela M. Powell, Harrisonville, Mo., Penny S. Gearhiser, Holden; Christopher R. Price, of Raymore, Mo. , and Jennifer L. Gonzalez, Haysville, Ks., seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. JOANN LEEPER CARVER Joann Leeper Carver, 71, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away January 20, 2001, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born September 19, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Edwin E. and Getrude T. Zurcher Leeper. On January 19, 1947 she married John Earl Carver in Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Carver had lived in Gladstone, Missouri; Lawrence, KS; and Excelsior Springs, MO prior to coming to Maryvill, MO. She had worked for the North Kansas City Missouri Public Schools Food Service; Sears, Roebuck and Co.; and Jensen Salburv Labs. Mrs. Carver was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville; United Methodist Women; Widowed Persons Club; and the MIC Club, all of Maryville; The Eastern Star of Smithville; and was a former member of the Christian's Women Club, Excelsior Springs; and Lawrence, KS Girl Scout Troop 271; a Boy Scout mother; a Cub Scout Leader; and a camp fire girl leader. Mrs. Carver was formerly the transportation coordinator for the Maryville "Road to Recovery" program. She is survived by one son John "Mark" Carver, Holden; one daughter, Connie Carver Ury, Maitland, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Linda McCurdy, Wichita, KS; her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Paul Flint, Cross, SC; a brother-in-law and his wife, Tom and Joanne Carver, Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; and three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband John Carver; one son, Russell Edwin Carver and her parents. Funeral services were held January 23, 2001 at First Methodist Church, Maryville, under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Dr. Franklin Marlin officiated. Interment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
