GORDON LEE BROOKS Gordon Lee Brooks, 35, of Holden passed away on Monday, November 27 in a fire at Gilcrest Equipment Co. Holden. Funeral services will be announced by Ben Cast and Son Wood Funeral Home in Holden. BARBARA ANN SCHROEDER Barbara Ann Schroeder, 66, of Kingsville, MO died on Monday, November 20, 2000. She was born in Sweet Springs, Mo on Sept. 6, 1934, the daughter of Harry Wolpers and Bertha Dittmer Wolpers. She married Leonard Dale Schroeder in 1956. She was a member of the Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, MO. She was a machine operator at Gate's Energy in Warrensburg, MO before her retirement in 1997. She lived most of her life in Higginsville, moving to Kingsville in 1987. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Mike Schroeder, of Lee's Summit, Mo; a daughter, Jackie Kinkead, of Liberty, MO; a brother, James Wolpers, Liberty,MO; two sisters, Vella Hinck, Concordia, MO and Jeannie Stoll, Alma, MO; and four grandchildren. Services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, MO on Saturday, November 25. Pastor Francis Lieb officiated. Donna Owens was the organist. Pallbearers were Jeff Vogt, Dave Hinck, Kevin Stoll, John Martin, Dennis Hinck, and Gary Wahlers. Bob Hinck was an honorary pallbearer. Contributions are suggested to an organization of the family's choice. PATSY SUE BENNETT Patsy Sue Bennett, 60, Centerview, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2000, at home. She was born February 29, 1940 in Hardin, Missouri, the daughter of Buck of Lucille Bradley McGonnigil. She moved to Centerview twelve years ago from Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Bennett had been a boilermaker in Kansas City, and was a Baptist. She leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, November 27, 2000 at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Rev. Bill Perkins officiated. Pallbearers were Karla Torbit, Lemonte Bateman, Rick Dale, and Ben McGonnigil. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. MANDIA ELLEN SMITH Mandia Ellen Smith, 95, of Strasburg, Missouri, passed away November 21, 2000 at Lee's Summit Hospital, Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born April 26, 1905 in California, Missouri. On December 24, 1924 she married Lloyd Smith, he preceded her in death in 1951. Mrs. Smith was an LPN and worked in several nursing homes. She was a member of Strasburg Baptist Church. She spent most of her lifetime in Strasburg. She is survived by a son, James D. Smith, Pismo Beach CA; a daughter, Irene Brooks, Hermann, Missouri; a step daughter, Mildred Manford, Holden; 16 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held November 27, 2000 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Stanley & Son Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Elder Jean Hoover officiated. RUTHADA LEE CRABTREE Ruthada Lee Crabtree, 54, of Independence, MO passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2000 at home. She was born August 23, 1946 in Witchita, KS, the daughter of Philip Edward and Rebecca Wilcox Padberg. She married Raymond Crabtree on November 8, 1969 in Holden, MO. She received a Bachlor of Science in Education and a Masters Degree from Central Missouri State University. She also did postgraduate studies at Kansas University and Missouri University as well as C.M.S.U. She had taught elementary school in Kingsville, Weston, Braymer. and Polo, MO. More recently she had been a professor of mathematics at Park University in Parkville, MO. She was a member of Highlands Congregation of Reoganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kansas City, MO. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Raymond Scott Crabtree, of Kearney, MO and Philip Leland Crabtree, Liberty, MO; two daughters, Irene Rebecca Crabtree, of the home, and Mercedes Leila Henry, of Parkville, MO; two brothers, Christopher Padberg, Parkville, MO and Dennis Padberg, Independence, MO; one sister, Rebecca Peterson, Independence, MO, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, November 25 at the Park University Chapel in Parkville, MO under the direction of Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Services were officiated by Virginia Bruch and Donald J. Breckon. Interment followed at Mineral Creek Cemetery, Leeton, MO. Pallbearers were David Padberg, Doug Padberg, Nathan Padberg, Glenn Baughman, Leland Cunningham, and Pat Warlen. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. TYLER NEVIN CARLYLE Tyler Nevin Carlyle, two months and 23 days, of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2000 at his home. He was born September 3, 2000 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Daniel Keith and Paula (Bueker) Carlyle. He is survived by his parents, of the home; paternal grandparents, Nevin and Donna Carlyle, Holden, and Dennis and Rodney Kramer, Ash Grove; paternal great grandmothers, Florence Poe, Warrensburg, and Maxine Carlyle, Holden; maternal grandparents, Jim Bueker, Knob Noster, and Deane Bueker, St. Louis; maternal great grandmothers, Fay Necteih, and Paula Boswell, both of St. Louis; one brother, Keith Carlyle, of the home; and two sisters, Hanna and Sarah Carlyle, of the home. Funeral Services were Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at Rose Hill Baptist Church, Latour, Missouri, under the direction of Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Interment was at Elm Spring Cemetery, Kingsville, Missouri.
