PETER PAUL FERAN Peter Paul Feran, 80, of Lake Lotta Circle, Gotha, Florida, passes away July 1,2000. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to central Florida in 1961. Mr Feran was in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of American Legion. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife, Particia Feran, Gotha, FL; his daughter, Julia Needham, Orlando, FL; and one sister, Dorothy Hite, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside services were held July 6, 2000, at the Glen Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Winter Garden, FL. TILLMAN GUYAN "GUY" HUNTER Tillman Guyan "Guy" Hunter, Jr. 65, Holden, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at his home in Holden. He was born December 24, 1934 in Hobart, Oklahoma, the son of Tillman and Florence Eberhart Hunter.He graduated from Camdenton High School in 1952. On September 5, 1954, he married Mary Francis Platter in Linn Creek, Missouri. He had live in Linn Creek, Camdenton, and Blue Springs, Missouri before moving to Holden 27 years ago. Mr. Hunter worked for General Motors in Kansas City for several years, retiring in 1985 and farmed in Holden for 27 years. He coached Little League baseball in Camdenton and was a member of the Camdenton Jaycees. Upon moving to Holden, he coached Shippy League baseball from 1985-1997. He was also a coach for The Youth Basketball League in Holden from 1991-1994. He was a paratrooper for the United States Army, during the Korean War, and received the Paratroopers Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Holden. Surviving his passin are his wife, Mary Hunter, of the home; one daughter, Donna Renick and husband, Danny, Holden; nine brothers, Willis Hunter and wife Ailene, Houstonia, Bill Hunter and wife Dessie, Blue Springs, Carl Hunter and wife Pat, Linn Creek; Tom Hunter and wife Marianne, Sedalia, Robert Hunter and wife Sharon, Linn Creek, Donald Hunter and wife Edie, Blue Springs, Jim Hunter and wife Carolyn, Hendersonville, TN, Roy Hunter and wife Gail, Grandview, and Richard Hunter and wife Julie, Blairstown; three sisters, Louise Kauffman and husband Roy, Gunn City, Laura DeVenney and husband Russ, Columbia, and Bertha Rodgers and husband Jerry, Camdenton; three grandchildren, Danny Renick and with Starcy, Dustin Renick and wife Myra and Dana Renick, all of Holden; and three great grandchildren, Cole Foley, Tanner Renick, and Dustin Renick, Jr., all of Holden. He was preceeded in death by his parents, and one sister, Wilma Houselog, of Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Linn Creek Baptist Church, Linn Creek, Missouri, under the direction of the Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Reverend Rick Jennings officiated. Pallbearers were Steve Hunter, Eric DeVenney, John Hunter, Eldon Kauffman, Brad Hunter, Lee Hunter, Chad Stout, Mike Hunter and Nate Hunter. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Jaynes, John Ferguson, Paul Burden, Bob Hill, Chub Pfost, Scott Strange, Harvey Sprinkles, and John Butler. Interment was at the Hunter Memorial Cemetery, Linn Creek, Missouri. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Johnson County Hospice. HUGH WAKEMAN Hugh Wakeman, 78, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away July 2, 2000, at his home in Pleasant Hill. He was born in Lee's Summit, Missouri on November 13, 1921, the son of O. Hugh Wakeman, Sr. and Lucille Prewitt Wakeman. On August 8, 1967, he married Helen Hedgpeth in Reno, Nevada. He had attended school in Pleasant Hill and graduated fom Pleasant Hill High School in 1938. He worked for J.R. Prewitt Mfg. for over 40 years as a machinist and retired as vice president of the Prewitt Mfg. Co. in 1988. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Holden, and a member of V.F.W. Post 3118 of Pleasant Hill. He was also a member of the American Legion of Blue Springs. hugh had served his country during WWII with the Army in Central Europe for over three years. He is survived by his wife, Helen Wakeman of the home; one daughter, Lucille Dunham, El Paso, TX; two stepsons, Dennis Young, Sedalia, and Mike Young, Independence; two step daughters, Sondra Browning, Paola, KS, and Roxy Morris, Lee's Summit; 18 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and many other relatives. Visitation was held at the Wallace Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5, 2000, follow by cremation. Burial will be at a later date at the Strasburg Cemetery. DOROTHY JUNE DANIELSON MCGUIRE Dorothy June Danielson McGuire, 83, Republic, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2000, at Christian Health Care, Republic, Missouri. She was born June 18, 1917, in Holden, Missouri, the daughter of Floyd and Marie Dillon Danielson. In 1934 she married William Oscar McGuire in Warrensburg, Missouri. He survives of the home. Mrs. McGuire was reared in Holden, and lived in Savannah, Missouri and Branson before moving to Republic in 1999. She and her husband owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Savannah, Missouri for 10 years. She was a member of the Library Club in Branson, and taught Arts & Crafts in Branson for three years. She was known as a wonderful quilter and seamstress. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Branson. She is survived by her husband Oscar, Republic, Missouri; one daughter, Barbara Hower, Springfield; on granddaughter, Wendee Kloeppel, Gainesville, FL; one grandson, Whitney Tyson Hower, Springfield; and one great grandson, Taylor Hower-Alcorn, Springfield. She was preceded in death by one brother, David Danielson, Coco Beach, FL. Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at the Holden Cemetery, Holden, Missouri, under the direction of Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Brandon RLDS Church and may be left at the funeral home. EDNA MAE PERKINS Edna Mae Perkins passed away on July 4, 2000. She was born August 28, 1914 in Jefferson City, Missouri to James I. and Mary Elizabeth Water Bradshaw. She married Alfred Perkins on July 13, 1929 in Columbia, Missouri and her husband preceded her in death on June 12, 1982. Three daughters preceded her in death also. Mrs. Perkins, formerly of Rocheport, Missouri, moved to Holden Manor three and one-half years ago. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of New Franklin, Missouri. She taught Sunday School for the tree to five year old children for 40 years. Survivors include one daughter, Melba Bratcher, Mission, Kansas; six sons, Darrell Perkins, Grandview; James Perkins, Holden, Lester Perkins, Holts Summit, Russell Perkins, Higginsville, Terry Perkins, Kansas City, Missouri, and Timothy Perkins, Copperas Cove, Texas, one brother, Frank Bradshaw, Columbia. Grandchildre from Holden are Dale Perkins, Alice Kilgore, Scott Perkins and Brian Perkins, Olathe. Great grandchildren are Arica Kilgore, Malcolm Perkins, Holden and Leslie Perkins, Olathe. Seventy five grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren survive. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Dale Perkins, Brian Perkins, David Perkins, Lowell Perkins, Dwayne Henry, and Shawn Henry. Services were held July 8, 2000, in Columbia, Missouri. Burial was also in Columbia. ROBERT "BOB" ALLEN CLAYTON Robert "Bob" Allen Clayton, 46, of Holden Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in Ontario, California. He was born Sunday, August 16, 1953, in Tucson, Arizona, the son of James Gordon and Ina Jean Rogers Clayton. Bob was a truck driver for Copp Trucking, Kansas City, Kansas. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was in the Army from 1971-1974. He had lived southeast of Holden for four years. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jean Lane and stepfather, Bob, Holden; five sisters, Mary Hodges, Marysville, CA, Donna Kingston, Dianne Stewart, Brenda Webb, all of Holden, and Carol Camarema, Olympia, WA; three brothers, James Clayton, Salem, Missouri, Ronnie Clayton, Olympia, Washington, and Robbie Clayton, Redding, California; and several neices and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden, Missouri. Rev. Bill Perkins will officiate. Organist will be Mrs. Terri Perkins. Pallbearers will be Robbie Clayton, Kenneth Stewart, Jr. Kenneth Stewart, Sr., Donald Kingston, George Haggard, and Philip Haggard. Interment will be at Holden Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Robert "Bob" Allen Clayton Memorial Fund.
