Incorporation of Vienna, Maine

Commonwealth of Mafsachufetts in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two; an act to incorporate the plantation called Goshen or Wyman Plantation in the County of Kennebunk into the town by the name of Vienna.

Sept. 1st be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representative in General Court afsempled and by the authority of the same that the Tract of land as defcribed in the following Boundaries in the County of Kennebec with the inhabitants there on be and they are thence by Incorporation into the Town by the name of Vienna ….. Beginning at the northeaft corner of Lot # 73 on the weft line of Mount Vernon; on the weft line of Plymouth Patent thence northerly to the south eaft line of New Sharon thence weftly on the south line of New Sharon until it strikes Gurdy Pond thence southerly up Gurdy Brook or Stream, so called, until it bounding thereon to a large hemlock tree near the mouth of Merry's Stream, so called, thence southerly thirty-nine degrees eaft one mile and two hundred rods to Parker Pond thence eaftly acrost said pond to the northweft corner of Lot # 13 thence eaftly by the north line of said lot to the bounds first mentioned and the said town is hereby vefted with all the powers, privileges and immunities to which other towns are entitled by the Conftituion Laws of this Commonwealth . . and be it further enacted that Jedidiah Prescott, Esq. be he and hence by his authority to ifsue this warrant directed to some suitable inhabitant of said Vienna to meet at such convenient time and place as shall be exprefsed in said warrant to choofe all such officers as towns within this Commonwealth and by law required to chofe in the months of March or April annually.

In the House of Representative February 19th, 1802. This bill having had three several readings pafed to be enacted.
